“Why should our children face an increased risk of injury or death because basic protective safety tools are missing on their school buses?
The Ohio School Bus Safety Act (House Bill 3) establishes a $25 million fund for school districts to enhance school bus safety with features in their buses, including seat belts.
The bill was recently introduced by Rep. Bernard Willis, R-Springfield, who chairs the Transportation Committee.
He is very concerned about children’s safety during transport and wants this bill to pass. Only seat belts would have saved 11-year-old Aidan Clark’s life on his first day of school by preventing his ejection in a school bus rollover Aug. 22, 2023.
Let representatives know that your school district needs funds to improve the safety of school buses.”
