In light of COVID-19 and as part of our Infectious Plan Task Force Response, Valley Perinatal Services (VPS) will be taking additional precautions to protect our patients, staff, and providers. As such, we are implementing numerous policy and operational changes to identify and restrict the spread of the
coronavirus.
Effective immediately, the following locations in the East Valley will be temporarily closed:
• Mesa
• Gateway
• Scottsdale
Patients from the above-mentioned locations will be rerouted to either the Chandler, Glendale, Phoenix, or Estrella offices. To reduce possible exposure to our staff and other patients movement will be restricted within the operating clinics to ultrasound and procedural appointments. At this time guest(s) will not be allowed to accompany patients into their appointments. Guest must remain outside the clinic or remain in their vehicles. Exceptions to this policy will be made on a case by case basis, please contact VPS at 480-756-6000 with any questions or concerns regarding this policy change.
We are reducing the in-office services when possible and will be offering telemedicine for professional services to minimize exposure of COVID-19 to patients, team members, and providers. A VPS staff member will contact you via telephonic communication to provide your tele-medicine options.
Please be aware that this situation is evolving rapidly, and the information may change. We are continuously monitoring the updated information from the CDC, the Arizona Department of Health Services, and the World Health Organization.
To reduce unknown exposure to COVID-19, VPS will conduct a pre-appointment questionnaire prior to your appointment date. The goal is to identify any "at-risk" patients before they arrive at the clinics.
The questionnaire will collect information to determine if any of the following symptoms exist:
• Fever
• Cough
• Myalgia or fatigue
• Shortness of breath
• Sore throat
• Headache,
• Productive cough,
• Hemoptysis (coughing up blood),
• Nausea
• Diarrhea
If you have had or currently have any of the following symptoms please notify a VPS staff member during your preappointment questionnaire and VPS will discuss next steps. You may also receive communication by our office via text message for any updates regarding the developments with COVID-19 or updates to your appointment.
VPS truly appreciates the trust you place in us and for allowing us to participate in the care of your family. We are
available to answer any questions or to assist you as you navigate these challenging times.
