I have some important news to share! Starting February 1st, Lighten Up Laser will no longer be located in downtown Phoenix. Due to rising costs and our commitment to keeping prices affordable, it’s time to downsize.



I, Hettie, the owner and founder of Lighten Up Laser, will continue to offer all the laser treatments you love, but in a new location. Starting on February 1st, you can still enjoy services like RF Microneedling, IPL/Photofacials, Laser Tattoo Removal, Laser Hair Removal, AdvaTX, Spider Vein Treatments, Laser Facials, and more. To better serve you, I will expand my hours and work every other Saturday.



I’m excited to dedicate more time to focus on you and your treatments, bringing my decade of experience to provide the best care possible.

Embarrassed to wear sandals or flip-flops because of yellowing, crusty toenails? Toenail fungus is extremely common, and it can be unsightly. The good news is that you don’t have to suffer silently. Treatment options exist and it’s simpler than ever to get rid of that fungus for good.

What Is Toenail Fungus?
Toenail fungus, is a type of fungus that thrives in damp, dark places. It feeds on keratin, the material that comprises your toenails and fingernails. It’s incredibly easy to catch and spread, as well. It causes the nail to thicken and yellow, become distorted, and eventually start to crumble away. It can also spread to other toenails and even to other people.

How Do You Treat Toenail Fungal Infections?

In the past, medications were used, including oral medication like antibiotics that targeted the fungus under the nails. Topical medications offered limited benefits because of the difficulty in penetrating the nail to get at the infection, and oral antifungal medications required very long doses that disrupted the body’s microbiome.

A new option is available today. Laser therapy for toenail fungus offers a painless way to get right at the heart of the infection, without the need for topical treatments or long antibiotic regimens.

Patients treated with laser showed clear nails three and six months after treatment.

How Does Laser Treatment for Toenail Fungus Work?

A powerful laser is directed at the toenail and penetrates through the nail to reach the fungal infection underneath. It destroys the fungus responsible for the infection and helps return your nails to their normal color and thickness. Note that you will likely need at least two treatments and results are not visible until at least two months after the treatment. SMP, or Scalp Micro pigmentation is something we have seen quite a bit over the years.
Like most permanent make up situations it should be fairly shallow in the skin and should be actual pigment rather than ink.
If done properly, there should not be any overly heavy spots and will react quickly to the laser.
The person that applied it in this instance did a fantastic job and the only reason is being removed is so that he can try to grow his hair back out.
This treatment was not only satisfying for Client, but satisfying for me to watch it just disappear. 🌬️
Not all SMP can go away with one treatment, it really depends on how heavy and deep the artist went.

Our next steps will be to use RF microneedling to help remove some scarring from a previous hair transplant and then he will see for her hair restoration treatments.

I am asked frequently if I treat permanent cosmetic tattoos of the brows and the answer is, YES!

Along with general tattoos, a client receiving semi-permanent makeup or cosmetic tattooing can endure an experience that is unfavorable and does not provide the expected or desired results. Cosmetic ink can also have a higher risk of oxidation or transitioning in color when there is the choice of poor quality ink, improper placement in the skin, over exposure to sunlight or UV rays, or in some cases the body’s natural healing process.

In this instance, it is clear that the first misstep was the choice of colors, among many other things. I am SO glad this client reached out to me to get started with her laser removal process because as you can see, we have made a massive improvement with our first 2 treatments. The remaining yellow ink has significantly less pigment for the laser to interact with so we will still require additional sessions to achieve our end goal but DAMN, what an improvement!

I can’t wait to continue with her updated progress and grateful for her permission to share 🫶
