🗻Festival in the Mountains🗻

Join us for ours Festival in the Mountains which is being held on October 17-19, 2025 at the North Mountain Visitor Center. This event celebrates the beauty, education, and recreational opportunities of the preserve while featuring live music, hikes, stargazing, geology demonstrations, story time, kids crafts, and a Market in the Mountains with local artists and community vendors. The festival fosters community, stewardships, and appreciation of the Phoenix Mountains Preserves and directly supports the mission of the Save Our Mountains Foundation.

The Save Our Mountains Foundation is a 501 c3 non profit which operates the North Mountain Visitor Center. It is a volunteer based organization so everyone you see at the center is volunteering their time to keeping the center going. Profits from this festival go to helping keep the North Mountain Visitor Center open for future generations to enjoy!

Parking is limited so please car pool. In addition to bringing cash to the event as some actives or items are cash only.

S'ed̲av Va'aki Museum officially reopens today!

Join us at 5:30 PM on October 2nd, 2025, for the museum’s fall reopening and the unveiling of two traveling exhibits “𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱: 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 and 𝗦𝘂:𝗱𝗮𝗴𝗶/𝗦𝗵𝘂:𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗴: 𝗥𝗲𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. Enjoy the wonders of the museum and get an early look at the new exhibits!

𝗦𝘂:𝗱𝗮𝗴𝗶/𝗦𝗵𝘂:𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗴: 𝗥𝗲𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 examines the Akimel O’odham’s (River People) longstanding relationship with water and focuses on the intersection between the politics of water rights and the celebration of traditional agricultural knowledge.
