One of the biggest differences people notice is that support does not stop with treatment.

A trained case manager helps bridge the gap between confusion and clarity.

That matters because injured workers are often dealing with pain, stress, paperwork, and bad information all at once.

A lot of injured federal workers get told to go where management tells them to go.

That is one of the most common and most harmful myths we hear.

If you are injured at work, you have the right to choose your own doctor. And that matters because the wrong provider can create delays, bad documentation, and denied claims.

Know your rights early. It can change everything.

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” — Benjamin Franklin

When it comes to workplace injuries, early reporting is key.

The sooner you report your injury, the faster you can access the medical care and benefits you deserve.

Don’t wait until it’s too late — take action now and ensure you're protected. 💙

What happens if you miss a deadline?

It depends on which deadline was missed.

Some benefits are tied to timing. For example, waiting too long can affect things like a CA-16 or Continuation of Pay.

But missing one deadline does not always mean you have no case.

This is where a lot of federal workers get discouraged too early. They assume they are out of options when that may not be true.

The most important thing to do is to stop guessing and find out what still applies to your situation.

Reconsiderations and appeals are two very different processes.

One allows you to strengthen your evidence.

The other reviews the record as it stands.

Understanding that distinction can prevent unnecessary delays.

A denial doesn’t always mean “no.”

It often means:
“Provide stronger documentation.”

Reconsideration is about evidence, not emotion.

Supervisors play an administrative role, not a decision-making one.

OWCP determines eligibility.

Your doctor determines medical restrictions.

Understanding who has authority can prevent unnecessary confusion and delays.

Many OWCP denials aren’t because the injury didn’t happen.

They happen because causation wasn’t clearly documented.

Understanding what OWCP looks for can prevent avoidable denials before they start.

ECOMP showing “submitted” doesn’t mean your claim is approved or even reviewed.

There are still steps that happen behind the scenes.

Knowing what to monitor (and when to follow up) keeps your claim moving.

A dog bite on your route is not “just a dog bite.”

It is a federal work injury.

If you are bitten while delivering mail or performing your job duties, you should file a CA-1 for a traumatic injury. You may also be eligible for a CA-16, which can authorize medical treatment right away.

But here’s what most employees don’t realize…

A dog bite can also qualify as a third-party claim.

That means:
• Your OWCP claim covers medical and wage benefits.
• You may also have a claim against the homeowner’s insurance.
• Both processes can exist at the same time.

It is not one or the other.

Too many employees are told, “That’s not OWCP — that’s third party.”

That is incorrect.

If you were on duty, it is a work injury.
