September is World Alzheimer's Month - Every 60 seconds someone develops Alzheimer's Disease.

What is the difference between Dementia vs. Alzheimer's?

Dementia is a decline in mental function — thinking, remembering and reasoning — that is usually irreversible. It’s a syndrome, not a disease.

Alzheimer’s is a specific brain disease that progressively and irreversibly destroys memory and thinking skills. Age is the biggest risk factor for the disease. Eventually, Alzheimer’s disease takes away the ability to carry out even the simplest tasks.

Fall Prevention & Risk Awareness

Lifestyle and home modifications can help avoid fractures, and keep us all safer and out of the hospital.

Most falls can be prevented. Please read through these helpful tips to assess your loved ones fall risk.
1. Balance and Gait - Do they need a walker?
2. Vision - Move all tripping hazards.
3. Medications - Some prescriptions can cause dizziness. So can dehydration.
4. Environment - What parts of the home can be modified?
5. Chronic Conditions - Does your loved one have any chronic conditions that would increase the risk of fall?
