Yes, I’m in love with any modality that relieves pain and keeps me from having to take ibuprofen. Red light therapy penetrates the skin and makes changes at the cellular level- signaling, antioxidants, collagen repair. “It doesn’t work” you tell me. You have to think of it like a pain pill. Pain pills wear off and stop working, and you have to take more. It’s not like you can do one session of red light and be pain-free forever. Nothing works that way. But if something non-invasive can actually prevent you from having to take something for pain, while improving cellular function, well then, I’m in.

HAPPY RETIREMENT to one of my best friends and mentors Dr. Jayne Peterson! Dr. Peterson‘s innovations in medical education span decades and always focused on the continuous healing relationship between doctors and patients, care for the underserved, and a focus on primary care. I am hoping now that she’s retired, we will spend more time together, but she will probably get right back to per diem work and become even more busy! She has touched thousands of trainees’ lives, but most importantly, I continue to cherish her invaluable experience, advice, and especially her dry wit. Congratulations Jayne!
