Potty Training Tip 🥳 stop prompting!

It is hard once your child is potty trained to stop overly prompting them. BUT try your best to stop this! Why?! Because it will turn into a power struggle. You will ask, “do you need to go potty?” And they will say, “No!” And have an accident 15 minutes later. Remember, they need to learn to listen to their bodies and accidents are part of the learning.

Instead, add in command potty breaks. Say, “now we will try and go pee” instead of asking them a question. Make this part of your routine and leave the rest up to them! 🙏

Potty Trained but still having accidents?! Here are 3 tips!
🚽 Stop prompting! This will turn into a power struggle and you will see an increase in accidents
🚽 You can use a potty watch! Although this is a prompt, it is controlled by them and will get their buy in! Give them the control they are looking for.
🚽 Make a social story explaining what happens when we listen to our bodies and what happens when we don’t.

Parenting Tip: involve your kids— chores!

It is important to involve your kids in home life. Have them contribute to the household. Remember, when they are young, they want to help! Take advantage and set the expectations now! Above are examples of chores kids can do by age.

Start these expectations young so as your kids grow, this becomes their normal, to help and contribute around the house ❤️
