Picky eating in kids can cross a line into an unhealthy fear of food. A new study by Duke researchers reveals more children experience those fears than their parents realize.

91% of kids in the study report at least one food-related fear. But only 26% of parents recognized those fears.

This research, published this month in the International Journal of Eating Disorders, is giving us a better understanding of an eating disorder known as Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID).
