Today, members of the Randolph Police Department would like to pause, to remember Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who was born in Atlanta Georgia, was raised in a family that stood up for what they believed was right and did not sit back when they recognized injustice. During his early childhood, Dr. King was taught to love everyone equally. As he transitioned into his high school years, Dr. King discovered his unique speaking ability and decided to join the Booker T. Washington High School’s debate team. From this point on, Dr. King solidified his role in a movement centered on those who were fighting for equality and human rights.

Dr. King left his mark on numerous moments in history. It is widely believed that one of the most historically defining moments of Dr. King’s life came on August 28th, 1963, during the March on Washington. On this day, Dr. King was able to coordinate with both civil rights and religious groups to form a peaceful political rally, which was designed to shed light on the injustices being faced by Black Americas across the country. It was estimated that between 200,000 - 300,000 participants attended this event; this event is credited as a major factor in the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

On that same day, from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, Dr. King stood before family, friends, politicians, the media, members of the community, and citizens he had never met, but truly cared for, and gracefully delivered his, “I Have a Dream Speech.” Dr. King called for peace and shared his vision of a nation where all humans beings were created equal. This speech was not only memorable but it catapulted Dr. King into the international arena and his words were listened to by all and used to foster hope. Dr. King’s impact was so significant, he was named the Time Magazine “Man of the Year” in 1964 and became the youngest person to ever be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Dr. King has provided us with a number of incredible quotes, and we would like to highlight one of them below:

“Be a bush if you can’t be a tree. If you can’t be a highway, just be a trail. If you can’t be a sun, be a star. For it isn’t by the size that you win or fail. Be the best of whatever you are.”

This quote tells us, we must each do what we can, no matter how big or small, to make our world a better place.

The Randolph Police Department appreciates and recognizes the sacrifices that Dr. King made in order to ensure a better world for all of us. We, as many others do, take today to remember Dr. King and honor his memory each and every day.

As always, we are here if you need us.

January is National Stalking Awareness Month. Stalking can be incredibly scary, and even dangerous, and it's often a tool used by abusers in order to maintain power and control over current or former partners. Stalking is also a crime in every single state and U.S. territory, and victims deserve support, resources, and safety.

Our Story

Let's bring an end to mental health stigma by educating the public. Prevention is the best intervention, and the holistic care approach is one of the most noteworthy parts of the nursing model to help a patient heal versus cure. Beautiful Mind Psychiatric Mental Health Services staff and interns believe in engaging individual patients in his/her care at the very first encounter to promote optimal mental wellness. Consequently, decrease emergency visits and inpatient psychiatric admissions. We empower our patients to take back control of their health and guide them to a healthier self.

BMPMHS was founded in 2016 by Dr. Muriana Jeanniton, a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Doctoral Degree in Nursing Practice. Dr. Jeanniton is warrior citizen, Rank Major-United States Army Reserve, Combat Stress Unit with 12 years in military service. Dr. J and staff deliver compassionate evidence-based practice care.

Dr. Jeanniton, staff and interns are tender, respectable, and non-judgmental professionals.
