Amy Robinson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at Red Sands Psychiatry, specializing in Child-Centered Play Therapy with an Interpersonal Neurobiological (IPNB) approach.
Amy is a warm, thoughtful, and creative therapist who works with both children and adults to heal from trauma using EMDR and other brain-based, evidence-informed approaches. She incorporates playful and non-traditional methods, including Sand Tray, Flash, and expressive arts, to make therapy effective, meaningful and engaging. Guided by an Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) framework, Amy focuses on the brain’s remarkable ability to grow and adapt, emphasizing the power of relationships and positive experiences in the healing process. She believes her clients hold the insight they need to thrive and supports them with the tools, education, and direction to reach their goals.
Amy is fascinated by brain science and incorporates an IPNB (Interpersonal Neurobiological) approach to her care. This approach to care is based on the idea that the brain continuously grows and develops throughout our lifetimes - meaning the potential for growth and healing is unending! - IPNB recognizes the importance of social engagement and attachment in shaping the brain and seeks to help individuals create new, positive experiences that can aid in rewiring neural pathways. Through her various certifications/trainings (RPT, EMDR, Flash, Sand Tray, Expressive Arts, and more), she helps children improve their daily functioning and achieve their goals. Amy loves exploring and using evidence-based modalities informed by brain research in her care.
Outside of the office, Amy can frequently be found hiking, biking, or enjoying the outdoors as much as possible. She loves spending time with her kids and grandkids.
