One year. 🎂
One year of giggles and smiles.
One year of milestones.
One year of diaper changes,
and one year of wrestling you into clothes.
A year of bathtimes to play and snuggle,
and of nighttimes when only mama will do.
A year of tears for us both,
and a year of you falling asleep at my breast.
A year of trying to put you to sleep,
then wanting to wake you and hold you in my arms.
A year of washing dish after dish and load of laundry after load of laundry.
A year of packing away the tiniest beautiful clothes you grew out of every month.
A year of watching you grow, learn, become.
And a year of myself doing the same.
I celebrate the end of this first year and making it through, while I still hold it so tenderly in grief. May we have many many more together and may I learn just as much from you every time. Love you Brinley Rose.

If you’re in the thick of momhood already this week—feeling a little (or a lot) touched out, isolated, or unsure—you are not alone.
Community yoga in the park is a place to move your body, connect with your little one, and meet other mamas who get it.
Come as you are.
Next class: THIS Friday (July 4) at 9:30am. Come at 9am to meet other mamas! Park at 200N and Main in Hurricane, UT 💕

This week 🙌 don’t miss it!
Class looks like this:
🧘🏼‍♀️ opening breathwork and stretches to relieve achy shoulders and low back
👶🏻 hello to babies and some fun songs to interact and bond with your baby and other mamas in the room
⚖️ some standing poses (with out without holding baby) to work on balance and strength
🎶 mini dance party and some yoga poses on the mat to play with baby
🤫 ending with some quiet moments to relax
Younger babies can chill nearby or in your arms. Older babies are welcome to crawl around or play with the toys on the mat in the middle.
You don’t have to worry about interrupting class or stepping away. You’re welcome to change baby or nurse right in the room if you’d like. Building and inclusive space to come as you are.
Questions? DM me! Would love to see you there 🤍
PS: extra mats for rent if you need one!

Exciting News! (and what it means):
I’m officially a registered prenatal yoga teacher. 🎉
But wait, Kirsten? I thought you already were!
I completed my training during early postpartum (100 hours worth), so I was a certified prenatal yoga teacher.
The (an accreditation membership) requires that in order to be a RPYT, you have to finish the training AND have 30 hours of experience teaching prenatal yoga. (A requirement I honestly wish they had for a regular 200 RYT yoga teacher).
So why is this important?
Not everyone chooses to go the yoga alliance route, and that’s okay. But to me, this is a reflection of the work and time I’ve put into it. It also means that I haven’t just taken the classes and studied the material: I’ve brought my knowledge into the world and shared it with pregnant mamas time and time again. And they have loved it!
I also received my 500 RYT this fall which reflects 500+ hours (not including prenatal) of training. On top of my teaching. My next goal is my e-RYT (which I hope to do this year yet) which reflects 1000+ hours of teaching.
All to say: You can read and study and learn all you want, but you have to get out there an apply it! Thank you to each mama and student who has ever trusted me with your practice.
Here’s to many more hours and years of teaching and practice yoga. I hope you’ll join me sometime 🫶

There might be only 1 person here who might know all 36.
PS: Bday was yesterday (15th) but I was enjoying it too much to be here.

I’m almost 9 months out from my C-section surgery and the birth of my daughter. And I’ve done a lot of work around healing physically and emotionally.
But it’s apparently c-section awareness month, and I still cry every time I see a video that explains the process. I grieve for what my body went through, and for the birth I didn’t get to experience.
I’ll be brave and tell you that as much grace as I try to give others, I have a hard time giving that to myself.
So if you’re a c-section mama like me, and still grieving, here are some things for us to consider together:
👶🏻 You’ve spent months growing this baby from nearly nothing, and you’ll spend years raising her. Don’t you dare define your role as a mother or the capability of your body on the 5 minutes right at the end of birth that it took for your baby to come out. It’s a moment we won’t forget, but it’s a tiny fraction, a flash in time of baby’s life.
💪🏻 You ARE strong. Your body did not fail you. And it will rebuild.
😢 It’s okay if it still makes you emotional or cry. It’s okay if it’s hard to think about. It’s okay if it makes you scared for another one. Your feelings are valid.
💕 we are not alone.
😘❤️❤️

One of the best parts of being a mom is rediscovering everything through fresh eyes, watching my daughter’s curiosity with her surroundings, and witnessing her greet all the newness of the world with wonder instead of fear.

📖 What's your current read, even if you manage just a few pages? Give it a rating out of 5 stars. Let's exchange book recommendations! 📚🤓
I'm currently listening to an audiobook for the first time in many many years (I know many mamas find audiobooks easier, but I just have a hard time focusing auditorily) as a challenge from the local library. Currently listening to "What Happened to You?" which reframes the question of "What's wrong with you" by looking at how trauma shapes our lives/behaviors/responses.
I'm learning a ton! Plus, it reinforces the idea for me that you cannot spoil your baby. All of those snuggles and contact naps and love are reinforcing how they will see the world and develop a sense of security.
