I had a patient come in who told me she was not afraid of aging. She was afraid of slowing down.
She runs a business, makes decisions all day, and is used to being sharp, focused, and energized. Lately she felt more tired than usual, foggy by the afternoon, and worried that this was just โwhat happens after 40.โ
We talked about what was actually changing inside her body. One of the biggest shifts with age is a natural decline in NAD+, a molecule every cell depends on to create energy, repair DNA, and protect the brain. Research shows levels can drop by as much as 50 percent by age 40. That decline can show up as fatigue, slower recovery, brain fog, and increased inflammation.
NAD+ supports the mitochondria, the part of your cells that makes energy. It fuels DNA repair systems that protect against everyday damage from stress, toxins, and time. It also plays a role in neurotransmitters that affect focus, mood, and mental clarity.
We discussed IV NAD+ because it bypasses digestion and delivers it directly into the bloodstream. That means faster availability compared to oral options, which can take weeks to gradually raise levels. Many patients notice clearer thinking, better stamina, and a feeling of resilience rather than stimulation.
We also talked honestly about safety. NAD+ IV should always be done under medical supervision, especially as we age. Slow infusions matter, and your health history matters. This is not about chasing youth. It is about supporting your body so it can keep up with the life you are building.
She left saying, โI donโt feel old. I just want my energy back.โ
