This spring, the Washington County Youth Coalition teamed up with Utah Tech’s Healthy Trailblazers Coalition to adopt two sections of Middleton Wash through the Adopt-A-Waterway program.

Together, they’ll care for nearly one mile along the Middleton Wash Trail while conducting an Environmental Scan, spotting opportunities and challenges that impact their prevention strategies.

What they find is a powerful reminder that all litter has a destination—and too often, it’s our waterways.

🚮 You’ll see them out cleaning up twice a year for the next two years. Let’s cheer them on for protecting our trails, rivers, and community!

Sharing this recent news coverage highlighting Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training in our community. A big thanks to our dedicated staff and the law enforcement officers who take part in this important work. CIT training strengthens collaboration, builds understanding, and helps ensure safe, compassionate responses when someone is experiencing a mental health crisis. Together, we’re making a difference.

Eighteen officers from four counties completed the Crisis Intervention Team Academy, gaining hands-on training in mental health crisis response.

Today we pause to reflect on September 11, 2001—a day that forever shaped our nation. We remember those who lost their lives, the families who still carry the weight of that loss, and the first responders whose courage shone in the darkest of hours.

Their legacy reminds us that even in times of tragedy, we find strength in unity and resilience in one another.
