Today is and we, at SWFN&H, want to say thank you to Forensic Nurses the world over.
Without each of you, who knows who would have been there, if anyone, to provide the essential, life-changing, trauma-informed medical care, evidence collection, and maybe more importantly to be a small beam of light in someone’s darkest moment.

To be there with them.

To see them without judgement.

To provide a safe place amidst the chaos.

Thank you.

For a task that you all tend to with such care and empathy, there is no ‘thank you’ big enough to adequately convey the importance of your work but we can start by recognizing the contribution you make to the survivors and communities you serve.

Happy Forensic Nurses Day to all the incredible men and women that dedicate their hearts to caring for survivors of violence. International Association of Forensic Nurses Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault (UCASA)

Mayor Michele Randall and the St. George City Council proclaimed November 7 as Forensic Nurses Day in the City of St. George.

Forensic nurses play a vital role in providing trauma-informed care to individuals affected by violence and abuse, bridging the gap between healthcare and justice.
The City joins the IAFN Utah Chapter in recognizing Forensic Nurses Week (Nov. 3–9) and honoring the extraordinary professionals who dedicate their expertise and compassion to this essential field.

All citizens are encouraged to wear lilac on this day to support this wonderful work and raise awareness of the important role forensic nurses play in our community.
