St George Marathon: I did it ✔️ My goal was to run 10 minute miles after not running for nearly three weeks before going to Nice (injuries) and getting in three runs in France. According to my Garmin I ran 9:44 pace (4:16:42). Aging is no joke. I use to run this race nearly an hour faster. Still grateful to be out there. 🙏🏼🏃🏽‍♀️

Tim raced in the Men’s Ironman World Championship in Nice, France 🇫🇷 placing 11th in the 🌎 and 1st American 🇺🇸 in his AG. The athletes swam in the beautiful blue Mediterranean Ocean. Tim came out of the water in 25th place in his division. The bike course consisted of treacherous climbs and descends in the French Alps with sharp narrow turns making the bike course very technical. There were many crashes even among the pro men. Tim came off the bike in 5th place going into the marathon. The marathon consisted of four loops along the Nice Promenade with the ocean in clear view. The fans lined the promenade and were able to see the athletes coming and going each loop. Overall Tim did AMAZING and we’re very proud of him. Our two oldest sons Thomas and Taylor and our daughter Jocelyn and her family were all there to support Tim/Dad/Papa. 🙌🏼♥️🫶🏼

I took🥈in my AG in the final Ironman 70.3 St. George 🏜️. I can say I didn’t know what to expect two weeks out from Ironman Texas but the legs felt strong and recovered for the hills. I’m so grateful for many on the course and the sidelines cheering all day for all of us. I (we) felt the love. 🙏🏼♥️ My biggest takeaway is I can still race despite a bad race in Texas.

Ironman Texas 🤠 I was able to run into 8th place after coming off the bike in 15th ugh!! The swim was brutal and maybe even long. 🤷

It was a dream and the best Mother’s Day weekend to race St. George Ironman 70.3 with Tim and two of my boys and We all finished within 30 minutes of each other. It was a hot challenging day but we all suffered and conquered the challenge together. I can’t wait to race with Taylor and Jocelyn.

Special thanks to my daughter -in-laws Syerra and Ellie for all your support! 💓😘 Also thanks Syerra for the finish line photos!!

I’m now in a new age group after turning 60 yesterday. I’ve had hopes of racing as the youngest in my AG this year but my neck just has not improved and I repeatedly end up in agony on the bike. I miss the days where the only hard was how hard I pushed; not enduring stabbing neck pain. After MRIs, injections, dry needling, massages , sound wave therapy, you name it I hope to some day get back to doing what I love. I’m currently registered for Ironman Texas and St George 70.3. We’ll see what the next few weeks bring. I’ll just keep praying 🙏🏼 and seeking for results.

Tim had a really good day yesterday at Ironman Arizona. 🥳 He placed first🥇in his AG by a long shot and this time he accepted his spot to the World Championship in Nice, France next fall. His run after pushing hard on the bike is really starting to come along. No more walking 👏🏼👏🏼 besides aide stations. Lack of time in the pool for this race showed but he made up for it on the bike (his strength). 🇫🇷🌎

Maybe next time I run the St George Marathon I’ll figure out how not to blow up. I decided to run the SGM three weeks ago for a long training day and it definitely showed. I felt fine until about mile 17 and then it was a battle to the finish. I was 15-20 minutes off my goal. Tim reminded me I’m still on an antibiotic for an infection so my expectations were probably too high. I’m still grateful to go out with so many to share the struggle and see friends who share this passion. Thanks to Tim for pulling me to the finish. Sorry you didn’t get your run into today Blu. Now he won’t let me nap. He has too much energy and just wants to fetch. 🐕♥️

Ironman Canada Penticton, B.C 🇨🇦2024:
Tim placed 🥈in his age group (full) and I placed 🥈in my age group (70.3) Unfortunately due to a turn in weather with rain and wind (the day before), the swim was canceled due to a combination of cold water and cold air. Fortunately due to a later start the temperature and entire day turned out to be sunny and nice. Everyone including the pros said racing was just as hard because the intensity was increased on the bike without the swim leg. I absolutely love this bike course and both Tim and I felt strong on the hills; one of the advantages to training in St George. But after grinding on the bike the run was hard! Definitely room for improvement for both of us there.

Overall, what a blessing to return to Penticton Ironman Canada where Tim and I did our first Ironman triathlons (1998/1999) when we were young and our kids were young. (See the next pictures) and my parents were there to support and watch our kids. 🙏🏼♥️

When you are committed to counting calories and training consistently over 2 years you can change your lifestyle, heath, fitness, and make significant changes in body composition. I’m honored to work with such a jewel of a person who is committed, strong, and fun. We’ve grown from “can I do this to I’m going to get even stronger and faster.” I love her drive and confidence.
