Hello Friends and Supporters!

It is with great joy we get to share exciting news with you concerning our medical services and name change! As of September 1st, the necessary training and preparation to offer medical services was completed. Our medical team is available to provide pregnancy tests, limited obstetric ultrasounds, health assessments, and prenatal vitamins. Additionally, we have fully transitioned the center to our new name, The Well, aka The Well Pregnancy Resource Center or The Well PRC. (Worthy of note: Our corporation name is still Hope Pregnancy Care Center).

After prayerful consideration, we began to pursue medical conversion 3 years ago. The process has included a consulting partnership with Anne J. O'Connor, J.D., Vice President of Legal Affairs with NIFLA to guide us through the conversion process, recruiting our medical director & hiring medical staff, changes to our organizational structure, development of a marketing strategy with rebrand, and a building purchase. Our original hope was to launch our medical services and name change/rebrand at the new building. However, we are trusting the Lord’s perfect timing and plan as we look forward to the day the new building remodel is complete.

Thank you to those who have contributed their time, supported financially and practically, and prayed over these changes. We pray these changes will impact our community in marvelous ways, all for God’s glory! We have been grateful for God’s promises, His strength in us to carry out His plans, and His wisdom throughout this process.

By His grace,
Tami Campbell, Executive Director

“When the time is right, I the Lord will make it happen.” Isaiah 60:22
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24

We previously addressed married parenting in the series, Real Answers to Real Questions. Let’s consider a second option, co-parenting. Sharing parenting responsibilities with your child’s father can happen whether you live in the same house or not. If co-parenting while living apart, many parenting responsibilities may be shared with a thoughtful, implemented parenting plan. Seeking counsel from a trusted family member or friend can be helpful to develop a co-parenting plan.

If you and your child's father are considering living together, it may be helpful to consider some proven statistics. Unmarried cohabiting couples in the U.S. often lack the relationship stability of married couples(155) and these relationships tend to end within five years, on average(156). Additional research shows that children benefit most when their parents are committed to each other “for better or worse”(158). If the relationship you have with your child’s father is worth investing in for the future of you and your child, it may be beneficial to discuss marriage.

Hope Pregnancy Care Center, soon to be The Well, offers supportive parenting education, community referrals, and material item assistance for those preparing for a successful parenting journey, regardless of which option you choose. In our Earn While You Learn and Fatherhood programs, we have enough lessons to allow you to watch one a day for an entire year and probably still have some left over. Our lessons aren’t about parenting and pregnancy alone, but multiple topics to help teach about multiple aspects of your life. Our Life Skills lesson pack, for example, covers financial education, home health, and career/job preparation.

If you have found you are unexpectedly pregnant and in need of support that goes beyond pregnancy, give us a call at (435) 652-8343, we would love to offer support to you in this season of life.

One of the important ingredients in a good prenatal vitamin is Folic Acid. Having enough folic acid promotes healthy brain and spine development that occurs in the very early stages of pregnancy. Since many pregnancies are unplanned, the U.S. Public Health Service suggest women of childbearing age to take folic acid supplements daily. Folic acid can also be found in foods such as citrus fruits, nuts, green leafy vegetables, and beans.

We recently completed a training for new volunteers! The training was inclusive of in-house group meetings, online training, and zoom meetings. Each participant completed approximately 34 hours in total to complete all of the requirements! We are thankful for the dedication each gave to complete this lengthy but highly beneficial training.

Each participant is now eligible to volunteer within the Center. The volunteering options they now have access to are within the boutique, and/or meeting 1:1 with clients and leading group classes as they become available.

We are excited to see where God leads us all in their new adventure with HPCC, soon the be The Well.

Our Back to School event was a success! We had WIC helping any breastfeeding mothers with their concerns, Southwest Utah Public Health Department performed car seat safety check-ups, Root for Kids offered hearing and vision screenings, and Mobile Dental Hygiene did dental check-ups and applied fluoride. We were also able to go back to school shopping with our clients and their families. Thank you to everyone who helped by giving financially to sponsor the back to school needs of our clients and their school aged children. All of the parents and kids were very happy and thankful!
