Have you noticed the rise of “SkinnyTok”?

What might seem like harmless trends or nostalgic ‘90s aesthetics can actually be deeply triggering—especially for those in recovery from an eating disorder or disordered eating.

The glorification of thinness is nothing new, but platforms like TikTok have a way of amplifying harmful messages in subtle, viral ways. If your feed has been making you feel uneasy in your body, you're not alone—and it's not in your head.

Jessica currently has openings and specializes in working with eating disorders and body image concerns. She brings warmth, expertise, and a strong anti-diet, trauma-informed approach to her work. Whether you're in recovery or just starting to untangle your relationship with food and your body, Jessica offers a space to feel seen and supported.

Feel free to send her message for a free 15 min consultation at (435) 767-1635.

You deserve care that helps you feel at home in your body—not at war with it. 💛

What would you add to this list?

For as much as therapy has become more acceptable in society, I've noticed a lot of misconceptions and unrealistic expectations from clients. This is also something that comes up in discussions with other therapists. Therapy can be wonderful and healing, and like all good things in life, it's not always easy or fast.

Of course we need to spend time processing a traumatic event and supporting our mind and body in making sense of that. But at some point, we also need to take time to gently support and nurture the parts of ourselves that have retreated in fear.

Often, when we take the time to nurture a discarded part and allow it to take up more space, the protective (now dysfunctional) part is more willing to step back and often welcomes the sense of balance in the system.

I'd love to hear what you think of this concept! Please share your thoughts in the comments 👇

As a trauma therapist of 9 years I can promise you this: every single person around you, whether you like them, know them or care about them, is looking for the same sense of love and belonging you are.

So in the words of the great Ted Lasso, "Be curious, not judgmental."

Journaling isn’t just about putting words on a page—it’s a powerful tool for healing and self-discovery.

🧠 Process your thoughts & emotions – Writing helps untangle overwhelming feelings and make sense of your inner world.
🌿 Reduce stress & anxiety – Getting thoughts out of your head and onto paper can calm the nervous system.
🔄 Recognize patterns & triggers – Journaling can reveal recurring emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that impact your healing.
💚 Cultivate self-compassion – Expressing yourself freely allows you to meet yourself with more understanding and kindness.
🌱 Encourage growth & clarity – Reflecting on your journey helps you see how far you’ve come and where you want to go.

There’s no right or wrong way to journal—just start where you are. Your words are valid, your feelings matter, and your healing is unfolding. 💫

Do you journal? What has it helped you with? Let’s chat in the comments!

Many of our clients tell us they are worn out and tired of talking about their trauma and struggles. If you've felt this way too, we want you to know—healing can go deeper.

At Bloom, we focus on somatic therapies because trauma isn’t just something we think about—it’s something we experience in our bodies. That’s why true healing isn’t just about managing symptoms; it’s about resolving what’s stored in the nervous system so you can experience real transformation.

✨ Here’s how we do therapy differently:
✔️ We use body-based approaches to help process trauma, not just talk about it.
✔️ We focus on nervous system regulation—helping you move from survival mode to true healing.
✔️ We don’t just teach coping skills—we help you heal the patterns that make them necessary.

Healing isn’t just about surviving—it’s about blooming into your most authentic self. 🌱

Self-harm is often misunderstood, with many assuming it’s always linked to suicidality—but that’s not always the case.

For many, self-harm is a coping mechanism, not a desire to die. It can be a way to release overwhelming emotions, regain control, or feel something when numb. While self-harm and suicidality can sometimes coexist, they are not the same.

If you or someone you love struggles with self-harm, compassion is key. Healing is possible, and support is available.

💬 Let’s break the stigma—share your thoughts in the comments.
