Allow Grief to Have Its Place
Grieving during the holidays is not easy. It's not just about surviving the season but finding ways to create meaning amid the heartache. Acknowledge the change, give yourself permission to feel, and honor your loved one in whatever way feels right for you.

This Thanksgiving, the absence of your loved one will likely feel painful, but by practicing self-compassion, planning ahead, and embracing new traditions, you may also find moments of peace and connection. You don’t have to power through. You can hold space for your grief while still holding onto the love that remains.

St. George, Utah – Marjorie Ann (Mitchell) Nicholas, 89, passed away with family by her side at St. George Regional Hospital on October 31st, 2024. She was born on December 13, 1934, in Clinton, Massachusetts to Frederick H. and Marion (Thompson) Mitchell. She married Charles Nicholas, Jr. on October 31, 1953, in Bedford, Massachusetts.

Marjorie was raised in Clinton, Massachusetts. She later moved to Bedford, Massachusetts with her family. She and her husband, Charles spent their early married years in Montvale, New Jersey until moving to Stow, Massachusetts where she was widowed in 1986. She later lived in Shrewsbury, MA until moving to Washington, Utah and then St. George, Utah. She was a homemaker before working as a secretary and billing accountant until retirement. She loved her family, flower gardening, her dog, and Native American and Mayan cultures.

She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Peck, and son-in-law Vincent Peck of Washington, Utah, grandchildren, Matthew Peck, Kaitlin Peck, and Sarah Johnson and her husband Isaac Johnson of Montrose, Colorado and her great grandchildren, Aubrie, Isaac, Emma, Isabella, Olivia, Elias, and Lincoln Johnson. She is also survived by her brother, Frederick T. Mitchell, of Castleton, New York and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers we ask that you show charitable support for cardiovascular care at St. George Regional Hospital by making a gift to: Intermountain Foundation 1380 Medical Center Drive, St. George, UT 84790. Funeral services will be Friday, November 15th at 1:00 pm at Pine View Mortuary, 566 N. Mall Drive, St. George, Utah. Visitation will be prior to the funeral from 11:30-12:30pm. Interment will be in Tonaquint Cemetery, St. George, UT.

Obituary
Nancy Lee Coleman Cain, 84, passed away October 8, 2024, in Cedar City, Utah. Nancy was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, on July 28, 1940, to Grace Irene Kays and Nicholas Jackson Coleman. She was the youngest of 10 children. Her mother passed away when she was 3 years old, and she was raised by her Aunt Ruth and Uncle Jim Seevers.

Nancy graduated from East Liverpool High School. She met Harold Eugene Cain (Gene) while working at Oglivie and Company while he was home on leave from the Navy. After a couple of dates that week, he proposed, and she accepted. He returned to the Navy and the wedding was planned long distance, and she didn't see him again until their wedding in October 1962. They were married 48 years at the time of his passing. They had two sons, Andrew (Andy) and David.

They lived in many places, including the Philippines (where David was born), Maryland, Alaska, Germany, and Maine. While in Germany, they joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were sealed in the Washington, DC LDS Temple on Valentine’s Day 1975. After Gene's retirement, they returned to East Liverpool where they lived until moving to Utah in 1992.

Nancy was a homemaker for most of her life. After moving to Utah, she worked at a hotel and Walmart.

After Gene's death, Nancy moved to Cedar City, Utah, to live with Dave, Miriam, Shiloah, Marissa, Jeremy, and great granddaughter, Lily.

Nancy is survived by her son David (Miriam), of Cedar City, Utah; sister, Emma Jean Giuliani, of Chester, West Virginia; 9 grandchildren--Mary, Drew, Michael, Andrea, Scott, Leah, Shiloah, Marissa, and Jeremy, and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother-in-law Allen (Judy) Cain, of East Liverpool, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gene, her son, Andy, and 8 siblings.

A visitation will be held on Friday October 18, 2024, from 1:00 – 1:30 p.m. at Pine View Mortuary, 566 North Mall Drive, St George, Utah 84790

A graveside service will be held on Friday October 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Santa Clara Cemetery, Ancestor Way, Santa Clara, Utah 84765.
