Skin cancer is the #1 cancer in the US. Because we live in a place that gets lots of sun all year round we need to be cautious. Make sure when you go outside you apply sunscreen. Wearing sunscreen that is broad spectrum and at least SPF 15 blocks at least 93% of those harmful rays that can cause skin cancer. Make sure to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours.

There is a new shingles vaccine called SHINGRIX. If you or anyone you know has ever suffered from shingles you know how terrible it is. This new vaccine is over 90% effective when it comes to preventing shingles. It is a 2 shot series. You get the first shot and then 2-6 months later you get the next. It has been recommended for anyone age 50+. Even if you had a shingles vaccine in the past (the old vaccine was found to be only 50% effective) the CDC recommends getting SHINGRIX. We offer this new vaccine in the pharmacy. Most places have been unable to obtain the new vaccine recently but we have an order on the way! If you have any questions comment below or stop in the pharmacy and ask!
