As an educator at Crimson Heights, Shari sees every client as a chance to grow her own perspective.

Each kid is unique. Each family is different.

So the focus is
• understand their needs and experiences
• make learning meaningful in their world
• help them get ready to move back into the real worldschool, home and community with more skills and confidence. 💚

💬 If your child could learn one real life skill right now that would make things easier, what would it be

At Crimson Heights, Rachel says it feels like family.
There is a real open door policypeople come in, sit down, talk, ask for helpand they know they will be heard and supported.
That kind of backing makes it easier to pour into kids and families, because you are not carrying everything alone. 💚
💬 What kind of support would make your workplace feel safer and more connected

In the first week of training at Crimson Heights, Chris makes it clear

We are not here for a paycheck.
We are not babysitters.
We are professional staff working with real humans who need us.

That is why they start with your why
• why are you here
• who are you doing this for
• what keeps you going when it is hard

They help you find it, pinpoint it and then, honestly, do a little ABA on each other to keep that purpose in focus. 💚

💬 If you worked here, what would your “why” be

You should not feel like a bystander in your child’s ABA therapy.

In our Ask a Therapist series, we explain how parents sit down with a BCBA to:
• learn what is happening in ABA
• get specific training for their child
• roleplay real situations and get feedback

The goal is to give you enough knowledge and practice that you feel more like a helper at home, almost like a mini RBT using the same language and tools.

💬 Parents, what would you ask a BCBA if you had 30 minutes one on one
Comment your questions for future episodes.

Shari, who leads the education side at Crimson Heights, sees something special here.

The clinicians and school staff actually work together
• they share information
• they build treatment plans as a team
• they put the kids first in every decision

It feels different than a typical public school setting, because everyone is focused on understanding these kids and what they really need, not just getting through the day. 💚

💬 Tag a teacher, therapist or support staff who truly puts kids first.

Emily describes Crimson Heights as a place where
• your dreams and goals are taken seriously
• your suggestions are actually listened to
• you are supported, not ignored, when you speak up

That kind of support makes it easier to pour into kids and families, because you know your team is pouring into you too. 💚

💬 Tag someone you would want to work with at a place like this.

ABA is not just something that happens in a session.
Chris reminds us it can work everywhere
if you have the right people using it.

At Crimson Heights, he sees students and staff with hearts twice the size
encouraging each other
trying again
showing up even on hard days.

That is what makes this place different. The science matters. The people matter more. 💚

💬 Drop a heart emoji for the students and staff who are putting in the work every day.

Tiffany started as an early childhood teacher.

Now she helps run the systems at Crimson Heights.

She brought years of classroom experience into a role where she can support staff, organize locations and help everything run smoothly for the kids and families we serve.

It is the same heart, just a bigger reach. 💚

💬 Have you ever grown from a front line role into a leadership or systems role
Tell us what you brought with you.

For a lot of kids, walking into ABA with no warning is rough.

Emily suggests using small warnings leading up to it

• talk about ABA a few days before
• remind them briefly the night before and the morning of
• frame it as something exciting and helpful, not a punishment

“You are going to meet some people whose job is to help kids like you.”
“They will play, practice and help you learn new things.”

The goal is simple
less surprise, more safety. 💚

Tantrums are not “just being bad.”

In Ask a Therapist, we talk about how tantrums are communication
Your child needs something
Something hurts
Something is wrong
but they do not have the words or skills to say it yet.

So they scream, cry, flop, hit, cling
until you finally hit the nail on the head and meet the need.

When we see tantrums as communication, we can start asking
“What are they trying to tell me”
instead of
“What is wrong with them” 💚

❓What questions do you have about tantrums, meltdowns or big behaviors
Drop them in the comments for our Ask a Therapist team.

Everyone starts somewhere.

For Rachel, it started with a move, a conversation with Dallas and an internship at Crimson Heights that opened the door into mental health.

From that first opportunity to where she is now, her story is a reminder that small yeses can change your whole path.

💬 If you work in mental health or education, how did you get your start

Chris Webber says that before Crimson Heights, his jobs were just… jobs.

Now he has a career with purpose.
A job where he can actually change lives and give back to the community he cares about.

That is why he loves what he does here. It is not just clocking in and out. It is showing up for people who need it. 💚
