Sam Crawley and Sirius Romano are engaged -- and they also happen to be two of Physical Therapist Dawn Pfeffer's POTS/EDS patients.
Sam, who has had general joint and back pain on and off for 12 years, was recommended to Banner Physical Therapy by a friend to develop coping strategies. Sirius, a makeup artist who needs full mobility to work, is hypermobile due to EDS. Sirius fell and dislocated a shoulder and chose physical therapy to prepare for surgery and for post-surgery.
Joint, hip and back pain were making Sam feel exhausted constantly. While Sirius had just made headway with an EDS (connective-tissue disorder) diagnosis, the shoulder dislocation was a big setback.
The couple has made huge strides working with Dawn. Sam has found physical aids that work best, while Sirius has been able to get out of the sling and see improved range of motion.
"Dawn has gone above and beyond," Sirius shared. "She does not feel like she is here doing a job; she seems truly invested in my care."
The two have found such relief in the personalized care they've received from Dawn. Sam has continued working, but now has more stamina and can find more enjoyment after work. Sirius has been able to return to work after surgery, too!
