Today is the birthday of Dr. Gabriel's late son, Matthew, who passed away after being hit by a drunk driver while walking back to his college campus. Being a rather enthusiastic advocate for organ donation, he was able to give the gift of life to four people by donating both kidneys, pancreas, liver, and heart after his tragic accident in 2014.

In his young life, Matthew encouraged Hawaiian shirt spirit days at both his high school and college campuses. So every May 4th, we wear Hawaiian shirts to honor Matthew while supporting organ donation!
