Our Story

PURPOSE & MISSION: The Community Assistance Program (CAP) REHAB-95, a division of CENTRAL COUNTY FIRE RESCUE has been created to: Provide immediate hydration and nutrition needs when required by emergency workers, especially those performing difficult work for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather; and provide assistance for disaster victims to help them begin their recovery process.

FOR THE EMERGENCY PERSONNEL:

Hydration is provided in the form of cold water or Gatorade for fluids and electrolyte replacement. We have provisions for fresh hot coffee or hot chocolate during cold weather. For nutrition, we provide a variety of 21 snacks both carbohydrates and proteins, salty and sweet are available for short term. For longer term, we have a procedure in place to feed the crews on-scene via donations from Christian Foods McDonalds.

We also provide a “warming island” or “cooling island” where personnel on-scene can warm up or cool down dependent on the climate. In addition to the cooling island, we provide clean towels and ice water to dunk them in to wrap around overheated emergency workers.
