Five Acres Animal Shelter is the business chosen to be celebrated for ‘Mom & Pop Small Business Day’ by Memory Care. We took them donuts from Old Town Donuts (another ‘Mom & Pop Business) to thank them for all they do to help the animals in St Charles. If you are wanting to adopt a dog or cat this is the place to go! And if you’re in the mood for donuts, you can’t get better than Old Town Donuts!

Our Resident Services Director, Christy chose to celebrate Danielle & We Care Salon Services for ‘Mom & Pop Small Business Day’. Danielle is The Boulevard St Charles’ in house hair stylist. The beauty & happiness she brings to all of our residents is remarkable! I think everyone here would agree that she is amazing! Christy presented her with flowers from The Flower Stop, another ‘Mom & Pop Business’. This is definitely the place to go for flowers!

Paige, our Operations Coordinator chose to honor Rosemary Coffee Company for ‘Mom & Pop Small Business Day’. She says it is an awesome woman-owned coffee shop in Twin Oaks! While waiting for your delicious drink you can browse from a large selection of items made by local artists. It also happens to be a lending library and pet-friendly, so it has something for everyone!

To honor ‘Mom & Pop Small Business Day’, Natalie, our Resident Experience Coordinator chose Manino’s Market. She chose them because after being in business for almost 100 years they still hand pick their produce & are known for their amazing pies made like Grandma Betty always did. They use local products & also love to give new start up companies a try.

Daniel’s Farm & Greenhouse is the small business Michelle, our Director of Wellness, chose to celebrate this ‘Mom & Pop Small Business Day’. She says they have an amazing variety of plants and flowers, great prices and the staff are friendly and always willing to help. Last year they gave us a deal on plants to give to our residents on a Wellness Wednesday. Michelle could spend hours there!

Chef Derek, our Culinary Director chose Sucrose Bakery to celebrate on ‘Mom & Pop Small Business Day’. They are a European-style bakery & cafe known for their scratch made pastries, cakes & savory items. All of our residents can vouch for how delicious their breads are. We get to enjoy them at all of our Candlelight Dinners.
