Who Can See The Eclipse on August 21, 2017?

Lots and lots of people! Everyone in the United States! Everyone in North America, some of South America, Africa, and Europe will see at least a partial eclipse. The path of totality will pass a thin path through parts of 14 US states.

August 21, 2017 is the BIG DAY!

For the first time in 99 years a total eclipse will pass over on a path cutting through the entire United States!

Mark your calendar. Where will you be?

NASA produced this extremely accurate map of the 2017 solar eclipse.

Missouri and Illinois are both great places to see the full eclipse on August 21, 2017! Awesome!

The center of the moon’s shadow, or the bull’s eye, is known as the totality. The sky will go dark for a few minutes during the middle of the day if you’re in the bull’s eye totality. There is about a 60-mile wide path of the totality.

FOR SAFETY, remember to get special glasses for viewing the eclipse.

NASA has mapped the full path across the United States. The rest of the country will see a partial eclipse.
