Forget plain soda,we went dirty! 🥤💥 Inspired by the viral TikTok Dirty Soda craze, our residents experimented with coconut cream, maraschino cherries, strawberry lemonade twists, and of course, the all-important TrueLime 🍋 packets.

Spoiler: Every combo was a hit. ✔️
Confession: We’re officially hooked. 😎
Next stop: Swig - Missouri City,here we come!

Edible Arrangements…watch out 👀🍍! Our Dougherty Ferry Assisted Living & Memory Care residents and their families just might give you a run for your money.

We hosted our very first Fruit Arranging Night, and it was a hit! From juicy strawberries and vibrant melons to grapes, pineapples, and cherries, families got creative building colorful fruit bouquets with skewers and toothpicks. The results? Nothing short of deliciously stunning. 🍉💐

This night was more than fruit—it was about laughter, connection, and trying something new together. 💛

This summer, our Dougherty Ferry Memory Care residents poured their creativity into something truly unique: DIY loose-leaf tea! 🫖✨ We harvested lavender, chamomile, and peppermint from our own garden, then dehydrated and blended them with ginger, lemon thyme, and warm spices.

Special shoutout to Dottie, our star on crushing, chopping, and grinding duty 💪🌸 She made sure every herb was ready for the perfect blend. Add a drizzle of honey, and it’s better than store-bought. 🍯💚 We couldn’t be prouder of this project!

For our last act of summer creativity, we bring you… TRUCKER HATS! 🌞🎨 Residents at Dougherty Ferry went all-in on the latest DIY trend, decking out hats with bold colors, sequins, jewels, and iron-on patches. Of course, a few were made to show off our love for the DF community 💙

Mary & Sheila stole the spotlight, putting on a whole “boyband” performance with their matching hats 🤣 We can’t wait to keep rocking these creations through fall!

Bullseyes, laughter, and a brand-new hobby—archery! 🏹 Our Dougherty Ferry Assisted Living residents took aim with plastic bows and a healthy dose of friendly competition. Big thanks to Daniel, our in-house archery enthusiast, for giving us 1-on-1 lessons, teaching us the parts of a bow, proper form, and all the safety must-knows.

Turns out, archery is more than fun—it’s a real hit! 😉

We’re officially approved to foster kittens with our local APA—and we couldn’t be more excited. These tiny furballs will soon bring joy, comfort, and plenty of purrs to our residents as part of our Memory Care programming. 🐱💜

The campaign brings together Spectrum Retirement senior living communities to raise Alzheimer’s awareness through art. Each Artbrella is hand-crafted by residents and supports 's Association in their mission to end Alzheimer’s.

Dougherty Ferry Assisted Living and Memory Care created our umbrella, inspired by resident Elaine Lopez’s love for her hometown team—the St. Louis Cardinals—and the deep emotional connection sports can reignite for those living with Alzheimer’s. Elaine’s design features iconic Cardinals imagery, vibrant red, white, and blue panels, and the joyful spirit of game day at Busch Stadium. It’s a tribute to memory, identity, and the power of hometown pride.

Our Dougherty Ferry Assisted Living residents took a walk on the wild side at Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center, exploring Missouri’s beautiful trails and learning all about native wildlife.
The star of the show? A speckled king snake—yes, the kind that EATS venomous snakes 😱—who charmed everyone with his calm demeanor (and cool scales).
Huge thanks to the park rangers for the hands-on lessons in snake senses, tail vibrations, and stink-defense strategies 🤠💚
