Are You Heading Out of Town?

As the Weather Continues to Fluctuate...

Focus on these 7 simple ways to shape up this Spring:

1. Find fun ways to be active: Use it or lose it! And move it every day for better muscle and bone health!
2. Eat real, whole food: The fewer ingredients, the better. Make meals from scratch.
3. Monitor mindset: Your thoughts and what you watch and listen to impact your health.
4. Don’t skimp on sleep: Your body needs about 8 hours of sleep, so be sure to avoid stimulants before bed.
5. Hydrate: Drink half your weight in ounces of purified water. Avoid plastic containers.
6. Enlist a buddy: Find someone who shares your holistic goals and support each other in achieving them.

When you think of St. Valentine's Day, do you think of your heart?

Those are the words of a patient who came in last week.

If you're like 75% of all Americans, you too have suffered from foot pain at some point. Our patient started a new exercise routine that involved more walking. The increased activity put stress on her arches and on the muscles of her feet and legs. She thought that putting her feet up and getting a little extra rest would solve it, but the bones in her feet had shifted and she was in need of an adjustment.

With 26 bones in each foot, bearing the impact of a person’s body weight, it's no surprise that so many patients come to us with foot pain. We take a natural approach that might include adjusting the feet and ankle, and oftentimes the knees and and spine are impacted by feet and ankle issues. We also look at posture and might suggest specific at-home exercises. Some of the most common foot problems we see are:

Achilles tendinitis
Ankle sprains
Arthritis
Bunions
Flat feet
Plantar fasciitis

The good news is that chiropractic care can make foot problems short-lived. Foot pain may be common but it doesn’t have to be crippling. Think of us if feet problems prevent you from living your best life.
