LAPS Gone Wild: Hawaii Edition 🌴

Our LAPS Masters crew traded chlorine for coconut water and crushed the Hapuna Rough Water Swim on June 7th — part two of the open ocean Triple Crown series! One mile of salt, sweat, and sass at the stunning Hapuna Beach State Park, and we’re bringing home the bling:
🥇 Greg said “aloha” to 1st place in his age group
🥈 Dave B surfed into 2nd
🥉 Laurie swam her way to a bronze beauty
🥈 Becky snagged 2nd while still rocking that beach glow

Big waves, bigger vibes, and a whole lotta LAPS love. Hawaii, you’ve officially been lapped.

LAPS Spotlight: Jonny Pierce Featured at the California Science Center!

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news—our very own Jonny is being featured in a brand-new exhibit at the California Science Center!

Opening May 15, 2025, the Sports and Science exhibit explores the incredible intersection of athleticism and innovation. Located in Exposition Park next to the Coliseum, the exhibit highlights stories of athletes who are pushing boundaries and redefining what’s possible.

Jonny has been selected as a key part of the “Breaking Barriers” section, honoring his inspiring journey and impact in the sport of swimming. His story is one of perseverance, passion, and breaking through limits—both in and out of the pool.

We are so proud to see a LAPS Masters swimmer celebrated on such a powerful platform. Way to go, Jonny!

Our first-ever LAPS Fun Meet was a success! 🎉🏊‍♂️

Over 18 swimmers showed up, kicking things off with stretches and warmups, raced hard, and made it an unforgettable morning!

Huge shoutout to Coach Romy for running the show, and an even bigger THANK YOU to our amazing timers, Laurie & Jim—we couldn’t have done it without you! 🙌

Congrats to our event winners—you’ve officially set the bar… now you have to defend your title! 🏆😏

And of course, a round of applause for all the swimmers who woke up early to make this happen! 👏💙

So… should we do it again?! 👀 Drop a 🏊‍♂️ if you’re in for round 2!

🚨 New Member Alert 🚨

Introducing the latest addition to the LAPS crew, our tiniest (and fastest) swimmer, Michaela Jane! 🏊‍♀️💨 Born February 1st at 8:42 pm, she officially holds the title of Daddy’s fastest swimmer 🏅 (sorry, Ryan, she’s already beating you!). 🏆

A special shoutout to Maddie too, who somehow managed to swim through 9 months of pregnancy like a champ - no floaties needed! 😉

Congratulations on the arrival of your little legend! 🌟 You guys are officially outnumbered by awesomeness now. 👶💖
