At Family Connect Memory Care, our mission is to help individuals affected by memory loss, dementia, or Alzheimer’s -- and their families . Caring for a loved one with memory loss or other cognitive disorders can be challenging. As so many families give themselves entirely to the care of a loved one, we help them cope with the many challenges, both tactical and emotional. Families require the proper tools and information to help their family members live a life of dignity and purpose, while maintaining positive interactions, and also balancing their own lives and needs with peace of mind. Family Connect Care has been helping families face all these concerns since 2008. Our Founder, Lauren Mahakian is a certified dementia practioner with a unique ability to communicate with families and those she calls "The Chronologically Gifted." Currently, Family Connect Memory Care has four unique memory care homes in Torrance, CA and Solvang, CA. In addition, Lauren is a speaker, author, support group facilitator and amazingly resourceful in helping families care for their loved ones with the dignity, purpose, and care they deserve. Her staff, all certified memory care associates, are trained and aware of the various ways they can make a loved one more comfortable, and improve their sense of purpose and quality of life by adding stimulating activities and tools to everyday tasks. They provide help in care, housing arrangements, stimulation therapies, interactions with medical and care teams, and evaluating care needs; they are knowledgeable of the tools and opportunities available to help loved ones thrive, whether it is at home, or in a residential placement.
