Southwood Optometry: Dr. Matthew Matsunaga Private practice optometry group specializing in medically-based comprehensive eye care, glasses and contact lens fittings.

History: This practice started as a partnership with Dr. Paul Sumida and Dr. Mark Nakano in 1987-1988. Since the relocation to Torrance, the practice was re-established as Nakano Optometric Group, which is a professional corporation owned solely by Dr. Nakano. In 2014 Dr. Matthew Matsunaga came on as an associate and now in 2015 is now taking over the practice as Southwood Optometry, while Dr. Nakano broadens his career path at SCCO. Dr. Nakano will still be around the office on Tuesdays for patient care. Together they strive to give you the best patient care possible. The model of "Quality Comprehensive Eye Care" still prevails.
