My name is Tayone, and I am proud of my life journey and accomplishments. I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth. When I was in high school, my siblings and I were put into foster care because my father was incarcerated, and my mother struggled with drug abuse. My foster family helped me through my proudest and most challenging moments, and I am honored to call them my family as well. I am now a graduate of Florida Memorial University and work full-time as a computer analyst, which has allowed me to rent an apartment and move out on my own. I have also been fortunate enough to be in a relationship with my girlfriend, Ashley, for eight years. She is the love of my life and has cerebral palsy. I plan on marrying her one day and starting a family!
My advice to the disability community and the world is to be resilient! Let your story be heard, forgive yourself and others, and watch you grow!
