It is with our sincerest sympathies that we share the news that long time volunteer and board member George Capuzello passed away last Sunday morning. George was a long time Saturday volunteer coordinator and board member and gave so much of his time and talent to supporting our children and military programs. He will be greatly missed by the Heroes on Horseback family.

Thank you to the Colleton River Charitable Fund for its generous grant to Heroes on Horseback. With 90% of our budget financed through contributed income, we simply cannot provide our equine therapeutic activities without the generous support of our community.

Heroes on Horseback extends a huge "thank-you" to Mungo Homes and dozens of its employees for coming out to our facility for a day of volunteering to repair, replace, and maintenance a long list of needs typical of a 20-acre equestrian facility. This is not the first time they have supported our program, and their level of effort continues to grow with us.
Mungo exemplifies what a true community partner is, especially for a non-prof with limited resources.

What a terrific evening hosting the Celebrity Chef Challenge during the Savor, Sip, & Saddle-up fundraiser at the Culinary Institute of the South. Special thanks to Orchid Paulmeier from One Hot Mamas and Luke Lyons from Frankie Bones for their spirited and delicious competition and Jesse Blanco for his Challenge Emceeing. More special thanks to Andrea Gannon and Andrew Davis for emceeing the fundraising portion of the evening - they raised quite a haul for the Heroes on Horseback equine therapy programs. Finally a standing ovation for Carrie Hirsch of the Culinary Institute of the South - there is no way we could have put together this unique evening without her efforts - she was amazing!
