24 years ago, a Victoria surgeon traveled to California to bring a new technique and surgery to our community in an effort to improve health and wellness.

Dr. B. Dean McDaniel performed the very first laparoscopic gastric bypass in South Texas at Citizens Medical Center, built a nationally accredited program and has compassionately performed surgery on thousands of patients from around the world who travel for his exceptional skill, expertise and bedside manner.
