Tucker's Adult Health Day Care

Tucker's Adult Health Day Care Our activity-oriented day care program provides door to door transportation and is free with Medicaid

Our family-owned and community-oriented daycare program is for adults with disabilities, special needs and seniors. We provide door to door transportation in over a 60 mile radius. With a nurse on site every day we also provide medical supervision and assistance. Our services can be free with Medicaid, and we assist families with understanding Community Long Term Care. Because today’s working fami

lies are faced with many difficult choices when establishing care for a medically fragile loved one, our facility minimizes the financial and emotional toll associated with the cost of long-term placement. Open during standard business hours, our clients participate in a welcoming, homelike protective atmosphere that offers comfort, ease, and an eclectic array of purposeful experiences. Under our care, all clients are afforded the opportunity to socialize, enjoy peer support, and receive their appropriate health-related services. In this stimulating supervised environment, we not only strive to offer more community based-activities but we also ensure that they reflect the individual interests of our participants. At Tucker’s Adult Health Day Care, we are committed to providing families with quality adult health services. With our professional staff of Registered Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, we strive to administer the best possible care in order to ensure that day care participants are safe and respected. Our focus on our clients’ dignity and emphasis on promoting wholesome socialization makes our center an ideal residence for families who prefer to see their loved ones engaged in an active goal-oriented program.

Sweet Carolineeeeeeee! Country roaaaaddd, take me homeeee! Scott Brennan and his wonderful wife Margo Brennan lit up the daycare with beautiful music on the guitar and banjo today. We had some slow dancing, some nostalgic tears flowing, and lots of singing along in this moving excursion down memory lane. They will be returning, hopefully once a month, to keep the good energy and magical tunes going. Thank you Brennans!

It is truly the season of herbs. Our raised plant beds are full of basil, chamomile, lavender, oregano and peppermint this year! We have been using the herbs as centerpieces for our activity tables to bring in a little aromatherapy and today we made different teas and learned all about the medicinal benefits of lavender, chamomile and peppermint.

🚨 URGENT: Help Protect Medicaid and Our Communities
Congress is moving fast on a bill that could make it much harder for people to get and keep Medicaid. A vote could happen as soon as this Friday.

This bill would hurt people with disabilities, older adults, and families with low incomes—especially here in South Carolina, where Medicaid is already hard to get.

If passed, the bill would:

⛔ Make people reapply for Medicaid every 6 months—this means more paperwork, more confusion, and more people losing coverage by mistake

⛔ Cut funding for home and community-based services, which could force people into nursing homes who want to live at home

⛔ Use a confusing definition of disability, leaving out people with invisible or changing conditions like mental health issues or brain injuries

⛔ Cut food assistance (SNAP) and programs that help people apply for and keep their Medicaid

These changes don’t help people. They make it harder to get care—and they’re moving fast, before most people even know it’s happening.

Experts Say This Bill Will Hurt People: No national disability organization supports this bill. Professionals in aging, health care, and civil rights have all warned that it will lead to more poverty, health problems, and people being forced into institutions.

✅ Here’s What You Can Do Right Now

Adam, is a single dad and power wheelchair user with a progressive muscle disease. Medicaid is his lifeline.

South Carolina covers only 24.6% of Medicaid costs. Federal cuts could remove parents from their children’s lives.

Thanks to Medicaid’s Healthy Connections waiver, he receives 40 hours of in-home care each week—care he needs for every daily activity: getting in/out of bed, eating, bathing, and more.

💬 “Without Medicaid, I simply couldn’t live independently or care for my child.”

It’s heartbreaking that funding meant to support people like him is being redirected elsewhere.

Please protect Medicaid—it saves lives and supports families like Adam’s.

📞 Tell your lawmakers: Protect Medicaid. Protect families: https://www.aapd.com/medicaid/
