For the end of summer, we decided it was time to reclaim our garden from Mother Nature's wilder intentions. While some folks were out at the library, others got into the weeds and helped clear the overgrown vegetable patch where we had such a bountiful harvest these past few months.

Cindy and Buddy Rossi lit up the daycare with their musical talent last month! We had made some tambourines and we jingled, we danced, we sang, we cried and we were entertained. There is nothing quite like a good song! We are so thankful that they volunteered with us and look forward to having them back.

August has brought so much active movement and nature time for our daycare participants! We loved our visit to Colleton State Park and Cheehaw River Access. Fishing, forest bathing, bubble play, and soccer were all a delight.

Join us this Saturday, August 16th at 11:00 AM for ‘Fossils Under our Feet’ at the Colleton Museum! Ashby’s engaging presentation covers the process of fossilization and the diverse animals present in South Carolina’s fossil record. The hour-long presentation ends with a Q&A! You can bring a few fossils for Ashby to identify after the program as well. Leave us a comment if we will see you there!

Exploring Main St in Walterboro was an adventure that brought a lot of smiles to our folks this week! We visited the beautiful memorial, enjoyed the colorful store fronts, met a kitty, posed as people riding chickens and frolicked by the fountain.

Sweet Carolineeeeeeee! Country roaaaaddd, take me homeeee! Scott Brennan and his wonderful wife Margo Brennan lit up the daycare with beautiful music on the guitar and banjo today. We had some slow dancing, some nostalgic tears flowing, and lots of singing along in this moving excursion down memory lane. They will be returning, hopefully once a month, to keep the good energy and magical tunes going. Thank you Brennans!

July has been a wonderful month! A trip to Wiggins, exciting new games, watermelon, okra and tomato harvesting galore, and indoor ball play! We have been enjoying the summer and keeping cool.
