To all of our patients, families, and community friends:
As we pause to celebrate Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to speak directly from my heart to yours. This season reminds us of the importance of family, health, community, and gratitude—values we strive to uphold every day in our clinics.
For some, this year has been filled with joy and blessings.
For others, it has carried challenges, illnesses, losses, or uncertainty.
Wherever you find yourself today, please know this:
You are not alone. We are grateful for you. And we are honored to serve you.
As your physician—and as part of this community—it is one of my greatest blessings to care for you and your families. Whether you come to us for a routine visit, chronic care, urgent needs, or support during difficult seasons, you are part of our extended clinic family.
Thanksgiving is more than a holiday.
It is a reminder to slow down, reflect, and recognize God’s goodness in our lives:
• the breath in our lungs,
• the strength in our bodies,
• the resilience in our spirits,
• and the love we share with one another.
For many Native families, including those we serve through the Edisto Indian Free Clinic, this day also brings deeper reflection on our history and our journey. Yet even in that, we hold tight to the truth that gratitude, healing, and hope are powerful gifts—gifts we can choose every day.
As you gather today, I pray that your homes will be filled with:
• peace that calms the heart,
• joy that lifts the spirit,
• love that strengthens your family, and
• health that sustains you for the days ahead.
On behalf of our entire staff—providers, nurses, and team members—we thank you for trusting us with your health and wellbeing. It is a privilege we do not take lightly.
