Beloved, the Word of God reminds us in Psalm 119:114: “Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.” What a promise this is! No matter what storms rage around us—trials, temptations, sickness, or uncertainty—our God Himself is both our refuge and our protection. When the enemy comes in like a flood, we don’t stand exposed or helpless; we are covered by His shield and safe in His presence. Our hope is not in our own strength, but in the unshakable Word of the Lord.
And then 2 Peter 1:3 tells us: “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.” Notice it says He has already given us all things—not some things, not a portion, but all that we need for both life and godliness. Through Christ, nothing is lacking. Whatever we face today, we already have the supply of His grace, His wisdom, His strength, and His Spirit.
So be encouraged: you are not empty-handed, you are fully equipped. You are not defenseless, for the Lord Himself is your shield. And you are not hopeless, because His Word is alive in you. Let your heart rest in this truth today—God has already provided, already secured, and already covered you. All He asks is that you keep your hope anchored in His Word and walk in the knowledge of Him who has called you.
Therefore, rise up with confidence: your hiding place is Christ, your shield is His truth, and your portion is “all things” you need to live victoriously. Amen.
