It will make your skin glow ☀️💕✨
“In traditional Chinese medicine, we look at the face as a reflection of what’s going on inside,” says New York City acupuncturist Shellie Goldstein, M.S., L.Ac. “We look at your internal well-being to decipher what’s going on. From the inside, we will make that change, and it will be reflected on the outside.” Over time, acupuncture can help you achieve a smoother, brighter complexion both directly—by triggering local healing processes in the face at specific points—and indirectly, by recalibrating bodily systems. In addition to targeting issues such as rosacea, dullness, and puffiness, it can help treat the deeper tissue muscle to tighten and tone.

The EU just voted to completely ban single-use plastics

“Europe has to come to terms with the fact that we cannot just put it on someone else’s shoulders,” EU Commission First Vice President Frans Timmermans told Reuters. “If we don’t move now, if we don’t move swiftly…you will have more plastic in the oceans than fish.”

The ban could go into effect as soon as 2021.

Anxiety now qualifies for medical ma*****na in Pennsylvania

Today we honor world benzo awareness day for those suffering from the ill effects of benzodiazepine drugs. On this same day, Pennsylvania announced that they will add anxiety to the list of conditions covered under the medical ma*****na legislature. 👏🏼 A high CBD content is wonderful considering the largest barrier to use of this alternative treatment is that patients are unable to afford CBD on an ongoing basis. Learn more in the link.

About 1.7 million Pennsylvanians over the age of 18 may suffer from anxiety disorders.

House passes Lamb bill requiring VA to study holistic treatment

By unanimous consent Tuesday, the U.S. House passed their Whole Veteran Act, which would require the VA to study what alternative health services it offers now and determine how much it would cost to expand those services throughout the Veterans Health Administration.

“We believe that the future of health care is going to involve a mix of old and new methods of treatment,” and that treatments such as yoga, acupuncture, and meditation should be used before drugs, Mr. Lamb said in a floor speech Tuesday. “It turns out that not all doctors think that the best way to deal with chronic pain or [post-traumatic stress disorder] or depression is to simply hand out more pills.”

As a doctor, I didn’t think much of acupuncture. Then the opioid crisis arrived

“After my acupuncture session, I left the clinic feeling noticeably better than I had before I arrived. I felt loose. My head was clear. My shoulder wasn’t sore. Was it placebo? How could I explain it? I’ve been trained to doubt even the most rigorous medical trials. In medical school and residency we learn to pick apart studies, combing through their methods looking for statistical biases and any reason to mistrust the data. I felt better after acupuncture, sure, but I still couldn’t bring myself to say “it worked,” given the dearth of hard evidence.”

I had often heard of acupuncture as an alternative treatment for pain, but I had dismissed it. But I also knew that my patients deserved an alternative to opioids.

Acupuncture equals disease prevention say new studies

Acupuncture is best utilized BEFORE you are sick. 👌🏼

“Before the acupuncture treatment, more than 68% of the study participants reported having both pain and psychological symptoms that could be associated with PTSD. After the third treatment, both the pain and psychological symptom scores had significantly improved, with no serious adverse effects attributed to the treatment.”

Well-recognized for its therapeutic effects, acupuncture is increasingly being appreciated for its ability to promote wellness and contribute to the prevention of a broad range of conditions.

Children Won’t Say They Have Anxiety, They Say ‘My Stomach Hurts!’

Knowing the signs can help you better support your little one. 💛 Anxiety is becoming more common in children as extra homework, a plethora of extracurricular activities, constant bombardment of social media and other external stimuli, etc. are now the norm. The number of children I am seeing in the clinic is much higher and most kids are saying “my stomach hurts” or “my head hurts”. Finding ways to help them cope and understand their anxiety is paramount in living a healthy life.

As children grow and develop, they experience a number of emotional reactions that they know are different or even negative feelings, but they haven't the…

Poor Diet Kills More People Than To***co, Hypertension, Study Finds — Medical Daily

People often say, “my diet is great!” They are not accounting for all the sugar in their daily Starbucks, Chobani “healthy” yogurt, or daily consumption of soy, conventional meats, and other processed foods. ADDING more vegetables and fruits is a start at helping to offset this epidemic.

“Poor diet is now more deadly than smoking ci******es and high blood pressure around the world. A new study shows that low amounts of healthy food or too much unhealthy meal led to 22 percent of all deaths or one in every five deaths among adults in 40 countries in 2017.”

Opioid Alternative: Try Acupuncture Instead of Addictive Prescription Pain Killers

"Well what I'd like to recommend for all my new patients is to try it first before you do anything else because it doesn't have any long term negative side effects," she explained, "I like to recommend at least five sessions for you to see some changes and after five you'll know if it's going to work for you or not."

This Unexpected Treatment Could Be Your Ticket to Smooth, Glowing Skin

“First off, this centuries-old beauty secret increases circulation, which in turn promotes production of collagen and elastin. Beyond that, it relaxes facial muscles. This not only thwarts fine lines, but also eases sinus congestion, headaches, and jaw tension. Basically, it’s great for anyone who’s dealing with stress—and brides definitely fall into that category. NYS licensed acupuncturists at WTHN simultaneously target wellness points to optimize overall health, too. So, you can decide to focus on energy, immunity, digestion, anxiety, etc.” - YES YES YES 🦄

This ancient practice is getting a modern twist.

Do Indoor Plants Provide Health Benefits? — Medical Daily
