Yesterday, we hosted a Trainer Talk on brain health and dual-tasking. Brain health is a hot topic in the wellness world, and lots of residents and community members turned out to learn more. We are excited to announce that we will have a dual-tasking group exercise class on Thursdays at 11am beginning next Thursday, February 5th in the Group Exercise Room. January is the beginning of a new year and the perfect time to celebrate National Blood Donor Month. Due to increased seasonal illnesses during the winter months and inclement weather conditions, donations of blood and platelets decline, and demand increases. The American Red Cross and Blood Banks of America encourage everyone can donate to continue their donations. Those who have never donated should make an appointment. Blood donation is safer than ever before and saves lives. Millions of people including cancer patients, organ recipients, and victims of accidents rely on blood donations from people like you.

Although nearly half of all Americans make one or more New Year’s resolutions, not very many of them get kept. About 75% of the resolutions are kept past the first week. By the end of June, our commitment drops, and only 46% of those New Year's promises are still maintained. Every year, during the first week in January, Diet Resolution Week provides support for one of the most popular New Year's resolutions we make. Remember - small, gradual changes make a big difference in the long run and are easier to maintain!
