Taking some time in to reflect on the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ feedback we get from our miraculous clients. “Aspen was there for me at the lowest point of my life when I had no fight left in me. I can’t say I am where I need to be just yet, but after spending 3 weeks at Aspen, for the first time in a long time things are beginning to look up for me. Thank you guys!!” -Samuray S., Google Review.

The stigma surrounding addiction in our society has prevented countless suffering people from getting the treatment they so desperately need. Nearly half of all American families in 2022 will be touched by the effects of addiction. At Aspen, we are committed to doing our part to end the stigma. We have the unique vantage point of watching people change their lives every day through the treatment process.

It starts with reducing the stigma through changing the conversation about addiction. Substance Abuse Disorder (SUD) is a chronic brain disease that can and should be treated the same way other prevalent, treatable diseases are. That’s where the conversation should begin. From there, we need to continue to applaud our brave recovery community for sharing their personal stories. This is an essential piece of the process for those on their recovery journey, but when the message gets out to a broader audience, we can truly begin to shift the outdated, disproven views that so many still hold about addiction. We’re thrilled that our staff and clients are up to the task and commend the work done on the ground every day to ensure those who are suffering get to experience recovery.

In recovery, we get to begin to practice true self care. Many of us suffered consequences from poor nutrition during active addiction. Now, we have the opportunity to nourish our bodies properly. Our physical wellness is dependent on proper nutrition, and the benefits of a healthy, well-balanced diet can't be overlooked. The miracle of our bodies is the ability they have to heal with the right attention. In this post, we're talking about just how important nutrition in recovery is and how to ensure you're getting the nutrients you need in sobriety. Click the link to read more.

“Fellowship is a place of grace, where mistakes aren’t rubbed in but rubbed out. Fellowship happens when mercy wins over justice.” -Rick Warren.

On Valentine’s Day, we’re celebrating the powerful, platonic love that grows from the true friendships formed in recovery fellowship. It’s a big love - and that connection IS the opposite of addiction.
