Can you think of a place or a space or a time that brings you total and complete peace? Mindful awareness of where you are, who you are and what you choose to do? Where you breathe in….. breathe out and feel no tension? Think for a moment, because even in the craziness, the sadness, the despair, the excitement, and the fear…. this exists. It gets buried under all the other emotions and situations, but it exists. Think about it, even for a moment where your thoughts can be the clearest.

While the holiday season is in full effect, take a moment to read this list of strategies. We tend to want to "do everything," "see everyone," and make the holidays perfect. Mental health does not take a break for the holidays. In fact, it can magnify a struggle.

Happy Thanksgiving!

To our fellow mental health warriors out there. Today is about giving thanks, reflecting and being exactly who you are.

There is no “right” way to celebrate Thanksgiving, to be around family or to eat your meal. Be mindful of your time on social media and remember that even on a day about gratitude, everyone around you is still fighting their own battles, just like you.

🍁It is okay to go for frequent walks for moments of quiet

🍁 It is okay to not finish all the food on your plate

🍁 It is okay to not answer that text or call

🍁 It is okay to step away from a conversation that you do not want to be a part of
