Last week we discussed the many issues modern day dating creates, but what is the single believer supposed to do about it?

Though dating is not a biblical concept, we can still look to scripture for wisdom to navigate this tricky culture. Here are 6 practical tips a single believer can apply today!

1. Understand the gift of singleness! Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 7:7 that singleness a gift. Though commonly misunderstood, this is not an encouragement NOT to marry, but instead to find joy in a current “single” state while faithfully serving the Lord.
2. Understand biblical marriage! The biblical marriage design is a robust, beautiful gift given to us by God to teach us unconditional love so we might become more like Jesus Christ. The best defense a single man or woman can have is to understand God’s intention for marriage and begin to prepare their hearts accordingly!

As we continue our talk on dating, we must discuss the issues created by modern dating ideals. It’s easy to see the strain that all singles, both believers and unbelievers, are subject to when it comes to dating standards. From a biblical perspective, above 👆🏼 are just a few problematic issues of modern dating.

By understanding these variables we can be more aware of these struggles! Thankfully, we had a good Father who helps us navigate these murky waters. Next week, I’ll give practice tips for the believer who is single. If you’d like to learn more sooner, click the link in my bio to read my latest newsletter: Dating: But Make It Biblical! ✨

The dating culture that we know today hasn’t always been this way! In fact, dating is quite new to history.

Before the Industrial Revolution, terms like courtship with the final goal of marriage would best fit the “meeting and marrying” culture. Prior to courtship, from ancient times to around the 18th-19th century, arranged marriages were commonplace. It was after the Industrial Revolution that the term “dating” was coined.

Fast forward to today the single believer finds him or herself in even more of a pickle as we’ve seen a rapid move from dating to hookup culture in our society. What then is a single believer to do?

Join me in this discussion in my latest newsletter, Dating: But Make It Biblical. Here we will discuss problems the dating culture has created as well as applicable practices the single believer can implement today! Click the link in bio and then click “Blog” to find out more! Until next time, friend. 👋🏽✨

Happy Wednesday! Spring is finally upon us, and likewise, so is a new newsletter! 🌸

For this newsletter, we’ll discuss a modern-day conundrum: DATING!

All too familiar in our culture, dating is not only common but expected. What’s more complicated for us in Christ, the Bible doesn’t say much about it! And in retrospect, the world has a LOT to say.

Join me as we break down what dating is, a little history about the subject, and what Christian’s should do when it comes to dating. Though scripture doesn’t address dating specifically, we can still find good and applicable truths for our journey.

As we continue to grow in our marriages and fulfill God’s great marriage design, prayer must be at the forefront. Nothing that we have discussed is possible without the Holy Spirit guiding us! This week, let’s pray this prayer together each morning as we start our day.

“Heavenly Father, the God who sees me. Thank you for your grace, kindness, and guidance in my life. I ask you to inhabit every part of my life, the areas both seen and unseen. Help me to walk with you each day in confidence and grace, knowing I’m an image bearer of you and a valuable part of your creation. Fill me with your Spirit so I may love and serve those around me, just like Jesus. Equip me to fulfill my great calling as a spouse, loving unconditionally at every turn. It’s only by your strength that this can be accomplished. In the powerful name of Jesus, Amen.” 👏🏼❤️

When shining a light on the biblical truths of marriage and the wife’s role, we must speak on submission and respect.

Though these words have been demonized by our culture, biblical submission and respect are not only commanded but GOOD. You see, both society and most church communities alike have a wrong and convoluted idea of what this means.

Remember, for a Christian husband to fulfill his role in marriage, he must die to himself daily. In laying down his life for his wife, he sacrifices and toils, all for her wellbeing and the wellbeing of his family. He loves her unconditionally as Jesus Christ loves the church, honoring and valuing her throughout.

In parallel, we the church are called to submit to Christ in everything. And we do this willingly because we know that He cares for us. In the same way, a wife submitting everything to her husband should no longer be daunting but a freeing and loving act. We know what kind of behavior and character the husband has been called to imitate, that of Christ. And in this true, we are able to trust our husbands to lead our families with strength and confidence.

When both roles (husband & wife) are functioning healthily and biblically, our marriages can truly thrive.

If you feel like you’re navigating hardship in your marriage and need someone to talk to, I am here. You do not need to navigate this alone!

Check out more about submission and respect in our past newsletter by clicking the link in our bio!! 👆🏼💕

Hey friends! It’s good to see you again. Have you read this month's newsletter yet? If not, check it out on the website (link in bio!) because we’ve got an awesome discussion going on!

This month we’re discussing the role of the wife and everything that entails, and let me tell you, it’s been such an honor getting to talk marriage with you and re-define our beliefs to what a biblical marriage was designed to be. So, before we truly discuss the roles of the wife, let's take a second to remember this: God is good, His ways are perfect, and His plans are never evil.

We’ve been digging through some heavy stuff lately. I know it can get difficult as we challenge beliefs and take time to look deep into our own selves. As we look at marriage, it can be easy to notice the areas in which our partners must improve - it’s harder for us to recognize those in ourselves.

We must hold onto this foundational truth. Without it, this process turns from a blessing to a big mess! So remember as we continue… God is good, His ways are perfect, and His plans are never evil. 💕

Hey friend! It’s great to see you again. If you’ve been along with me on this marriage journey of learning what scripture has to say, welcome back! If you’re new here, welcome! We have exciting things planned for this months newsletter, “A Wife of Nobile Character.”

Last month, we talked and celebrated the husband and everything they do in marriages. Without them, marriages would not thrive and fulfill God’s design! Likewise, without wives, marriage would not thrive and fulfill God’s design.

This month, we are discussing wives and their wonderful, fulfilling roles in marriage. We will cover scripture and read Proverbs 31 together. We’ll also talk about culturally “taboo” topics such as submission and respect! SPOILER ALERT - God actually calls us to those things!!! 👋🏽

So let’s jump right in together as we dive into the role of the wife! If you haven’t already done so, click the link in my bio and SIGN UP to receive the newsletter right to your email! Talk with you soon. ✨

Hey friends! 👋🏽 As we finish up covering last months news letter, we must address the husbands in the room directly.

Wives need husbands who are willing to love them as Christ loves the church. This is a sacrificial, all consuming love that only comes from Christ.

In this love, he must love and protect her both physically and mentally. Here are a few questions to help husbands with the latter.

There are more questions in the last section of our “A Husband… Summoned” news letter! Click the link in our bio to read the full post. This next month, we are addressing the ✨ WIVES! ✨

Ladies, we will find that scripture says a lot about how a wife should love their husbands, too. Talk to you soon! ✨

Hey friends! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and time spent with family!

As we continue on the topic of marriage, we must read Ephesians 5. This verse is a beautiful description of how a husband should love their wives and the true importance of Christ-like love.

A Christian husband is to love because he is following the example of Christ.

Jesus loved sinners, even when they hated Him. He loved them so much He died a brutal and agonizing death for them. Through this unconditional love, the example is set for the Christian husband. He is to love his wife, not because of what she does or doesn’t do, but because He is obedient to the word of God.

When looking at our culture and societal views, we see such a stark contact to the biblical view of love and marriage. We live in a world that focuses on self rather than others, and feelings over choice.

The truth is that God calls us to choose love, to choose to show unconditional love - just as Christ shows us. It’s not easy, but through this choice, we become more like Jesus… which does what? (I know you know this if you’ve been following along with us!!!)

Fulfills Gods purpose of marriage!

It all comes around full circle. Are there areas in your marriage where you could choose unconditional love?
