Maximize convenience and minimize disruption: Schedule your VA appointments remotely. 🤳

⚠️ Starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, August 1, the intersection of Northlake Boulevard and Beeline Highway will be closed. This closure is expected to last through Sunday, August 10. The closure is for railroad track replacement and signalization improvements.

To ensure uninterrupted access to your VA care and bypass anticipated traffic congestion during this closure, we want to remind Veterans of the option to opt in for virtual appointments using VA Video Connect (VVC). 🩺

VVC is a VA secure video conferencing app for telehealth appointments. The app enables you to connect with your VA care team over live video using a computer or a smart mobile device. - Yesterday, marked the one year anniversary of the House passing the bill to rename the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center after U.S. Army Veteran Thomas H. Corey. 🪖🇺🇸

On the first anniversary, we pause to reflect on his unforgettable legacy. Thomas H. Corey was a distinguished U.S. Army Veteran whose bravery, service, and lifelong commitment to fellow Veterans left a lasting legacy.

During a combat mission in 1968, Corey was severely wounded—shot in the neck—which left him paralyzed from the chest down. Despite the life-altering injury, his courage never wavered. Rather than retreat from public life, Corey turned his pain into purpose. He dedicated his post-service life to advocating for disabled Veterans, using his voice and lived experience to inspire change and ensure others received the care and recognition they deserved.

Although Corey passed away his bravery—both on the battlefield and in the decades after—remains a shining example of resilience and service beyond the uniform. He was not only a soldier in combat but a warrior for justice and dignity for all who served. 🫡
