Rising Lotus has two Teen Specialists with experience in anxiety, depression, self-harm, gender identity and life transitions. Teen therapy is available in person in West Palm Beach and virtually for families who may need a more flexible option.

Welcome, Princess Fiona! We are so excited to have a Therapy Dog-In Training at Rising Lotus. During her training, Fiona is learning really important skills like “stay” and “leave it.” She really loves people—kids, adults, everyone—and can’t wait to help take care of the families that come through our door.

Fiona will be in the office a few days human co-Therapist, Tara McDonnell, LCSW, RPT-S.

Moms, remember that girl drama you experienced in middle school and high school? Well girls today are experiencing it younger and younger -- imagine at age 8! -- and girls and parents are at a loss of what to do.

Our Empower Her summer program will teach therapeutic coping skills and confidence building in a fun and relaxed setting, helping girls learn vital skills while meeting new friends.

Girls aged 8 - 11 will learn anxiety reduction, positive body image, improving focus and concentration, and more.

Don't forget - kids and teens need rules and boundaries. They serve as guidance in their journey of development. And part of this is enforcing rules about what is acceptable and what is not. The clearer the message is, the easier it is for kids and teens to understand.

Alex is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has spent her career working with children and their families. Before entering private practice, Alex provided services in a variety of settings such as schools and outpatient settings.

She also worked as a Therapist and Program Coordinator at Tykes and Teens, where she created an LGBTQ+ group for youth. She works with both individuals and groups whose concerns may include depression, anxiety, abuse, gender identity and sexual identity, as well as emotional, physical, and/or sexual abuse.

Each treatment plan is tailored to fit her client’s emotional and therapeutic needs and can include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, and Psychodrama interventions.
