Today, we joyfully celebrate 96 years of grace, compassion, and dedicated service by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm. We honor our founding in 1929 by the Venerable Mary Angeline Teresa McCrory. Her enduring vision — that “the difference is love” — continues to guide our mission of providing care rooted in dignity and faith. As we mark this Foundation Day, we honor the legacy that lives on in every life we touch.

On this Feast of the Assumption, we honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, taken body and soul into eternal glory. Her Assumption reveals the deep truth of our faith, that death is not an end, but a passage—and that every life, including the lives of the sick and aged, is sacred. Mary, in her humility and grace, has gone before us, showing the way.
May this holy day renew our hope and remind us of the beauty in every stage of life.

At Lourdes Noreen McKeen, peace of mind is our goal — especially during hurricane season. The comfort and safety of both our residents and staff is one of our top priorities. Did you know:

Residents of Lourdes Noreen-Mckeen do not need to worry about being evacuated in the case of a hurricane or power loss due to a storm. We are a fully generated community, meaning that in the event of a power outage, our backup generator allows us to continue to operate fully with no loss of power.

Our community is equipped with hurricane impact windows; they are designed to withstand the extreme pressure of forced winds. Lourdes was built to withstand a category 5 hurricane.
We also offer respite apartments for local seniors to reserve during hurricane season, giving them a reliable and safe place to go in the case of emergency.

Hurricane season runs from June 1st through November 30th. If you are interested in moving to Lourdes or reserving our respite apartment during hurricane season, please contact us by calling us at 561.655.8544.
