Today, we honor the beautiful love story of Dr. Maurice Laszlo and his beloved wife, Phyllis. For more than fifty years, they shared a life filled with family, music, learning, and deep devotion to one another. While Dr. Laszlo dedicated over six decades to caring for others as a cardiologist, teacher, and leader in South Florida’s medical community, the greatest joy of his life was the love he shared at home.

When Phyllis needed hospice care, Trustbridge was there, surrounding her with comfort, dignity, and compassion. Years later, when it was his turn, Dr. Laszlo chose Trustbridge for his own journey, trusting he would be cared for with the same tenderness and respect.

Because everlasting love isn’t only about the years you share, it’s about honoring one another through every chapter.

At Trustbridge, families can choose to receive care where they feel most at home, whether in their own residence, in our care centers, or in select living communities across South Florida, including John Knox Village, where Dr. Laszlo spent his final chapter.

This Valentine’s Day, and every day, we celebrate enduring love, cherished memories, and the compassion that carries us through life’s most meaningful moments.

A hospice volunteer is an indispensable part of our hospice family and we are inspired by their example. Out of kindness and compassion, they help us care for families during their time of greatest need. That's why we call them our Hospice Heroes.

Some volunteers work directly with patients and families while others help in our offices, resale shops and at fundraising events. Many offer their professional skills, such as hairdressing or accounting. Student volunteers (16 and older) can help in offices, resale shops or with events.

Whatever your skills or interests, you can have a meaningful impact on the lives of others. There are volunteers opportunities throughout Palm Beach and Broward counties, training is provided, and assignments can be tailored to meet your schedule.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please call (561) 227-5138 or visit https://trustbridge.com/get-involved/volunteering/.
