Labor Day reminds us that every worker deserves dignity, rest, and recognition. At Trustbridge, we see those values lived out every day in the work of our extraordinary team.

Caring for patients and families at the end of life is one of the most profound forms of labor. It calls on the heart as much as the hands, and it requires not only skill but also compassion, patience, and presence. This Labor Day, we honor the way you give dignity to others—by easing pain, bringing comfort, and ensuring that no one walks their journey alone.

To each member of the Trustbridge team: thank you for the countless ways you show up for our community.

Happy Labor Day.

Grief doesn’t follow a script. It can look like tears, silence, laughter at unexpected moments, or just getting through the day one step at a time. There is no “right way” to grieve—only your way.

In honor of National Grief Awareness Day today, we’re sharing some thoughtful books and podcasts that many have found helpful in navigating grief:

🧡 Megan Devine’s It’s OK That You’re Not OK – Considered one of the most compassionate, modern grief guides. She’s a therapist and grief advocate whose work is often recommended by those who work with loss.

🧡 Joan Didion’s The Year of Magical Thinking – A classic memoir about grief and loss, often included on mental health reading lists.

🧡 Joanne Cacciatore’s Bearing the Unbearable – Written by a grief researcher and bereavement counselor; grounded in both lived experience and clinical practice.

🧡 Podcast: Griefcast – An award-winning UK podcast where comedians and public figures speak openly about grief; widely praised for normalizing the conversation.

🧡 Podcast: What’s Your Grief? – Created by two grief professionals; it’s a staple resource in hospice and counseling communities, offering practical strategies and validation.

We’d love to hear from you too. What resources, words, or rituals have helped you through grief?

On Senior Citizens Day, we honor the lives and legacies of seniors, and every cherished moment spent together.

Today, we celebrate the story of Dr. Maurice Laszlo, a compassionate physician who dedicated more than six decades to caring for others as a cardiologist, teacher, and leader in South Florida’s medical community. Beyond his career, he was a husband, father, grandfather, music lover, and lifelong learner. Above all, he cherished his family and the love he shared with his wife, Phyllis, for more than fifty years.

When Phyllis needed hospice care, Trustbridge was there to provide comfort and dignity. Years later, when it was his turn, Dr. Laszlo chose Trustbridge for his own journey—trusting that he, too, would be cared for with the same compassion.

At Trustbridge, seniors have the choice to receive care where they feel most at home—whether in their own residence, in our care centers, or in select living communities across South Florida like John Knox Village, where Dr. Laszlo spent his final chapter.

Watch their story here: https://youtu.be/_p4Htf10u1c?si=DfzKR8JwpOUc_0vJ

And Dr. Laszlo’s own journey here: https://youtu.be/eh_A9_kO14w?si=QNM1D40SNepJZCoZ

Today and every day, we celebrate seniors for their wisdom, their choices, their stories, and the moments that make life truly meaningful.

We’re honored to share that in 2024 we expanded our home-based pediatric palliative and hospice care services to meet the growing needs of families in our community. It is our passion to bring comfort, dignity, and emotional support to children and their families right where they need it most: at home.

We proudly partner with leading children’s hospitals across South Florida, including Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Florida’s Children’s Medical Services Health Plan (CMS), and Palm Beach Children’s Hospital at St. Mary’s Medical Center. As proud collaborators with the Pediatric Oncology Support Team (POST), we walk beside families on the childhood cancer journey, offering expert care and a sense of community.

“Every touch, every word, and every action matter—because in these moments, we are more than caregivers. We are partners in a deeply personal experience.”
— Cristina Florido, Pediatric Specialist, Trustbridge

Our physicians and nurses receive the specialized training needed to compassionately and confidently support families facing chronic or terminal illness in children. Our pediatric specialists also share their expertise nationally, including with St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the University of Miami Pediatric Palliative Program.

No family should walk this journey alone. If you or someone you know needs support, visit Trustbridge.com or call 844-422-3648.
