Magnesium, folic acid, and calcium are three nutrients that work together like a support team during pregnancy. They help your body stay strong while your baby grows.

Folic acid or folate, which is the active vitamin that your body uses once broken down, helps your baby’s brain and spine form the right way, especially in the very early weeks of pregnancy. It also helps your body make new cells, which is important because both you and your baby are growing fast.

Calcium is what your baby uses to build strong bones and teeth. If you don’t get enough calcium from food or supplements, your body will take it from your bones to give to the baby, which can make your bones weaker over time.

Magnesium helps your muscles and nerves work smoothly and can help with things like leg cramps and trouble sleeping. It also works together with calcium to build your baby’s bones and helps keep your heartbeat steady.

These are only 3 of the MANY nutrients that your body needs extra of during pregnancy!

Magnesium isn’t all the same — your body uses different types in different ways! ✨

🟢 Magnesium Glycinate
This kind is gentle and easy for your body to use. It helps you relax, sleep better, and stay calm. It’s also easy on your stomach.

⚡ Magnesium Malate
This type helps your body make energy. It’s good for people who work out or get tired or sore muscles.

💧 Magnesium Citrate
This one helps with digestion. It’s good if you sometimes get constipated, but it can make you go to the bathroom more because it doesn't absorb as well.

⬜ Magnesium Oxide
This type doesn’t absorb very well, even though it looks like it has a lot of magnesium. It’s mostly used for heartburn or as a strong laxative.

🧠💪💤 All well absorbed magnesium will help each one of these problems, but each kind helps a little different—so pick the one that helps your body the most!

A lot of these big companies use the term "electrolytes" but in reality its just a bunch of flavored salt with a touch of other minerals. Most Americans get too much salt already and not enough of the other ones like potassium, magnesium, and calcium.
Sure if you are sweating profusely every day then some more salt is good but why pay $2 for flavored salt? Salt is so cheap just salt your food or add some to your drink or under your tongue if more salt is your goal. If your goal is full spectrum electrolytes to make up for what a normal diet lacks and increase health overall, most of those major brands don't cut it.

🪑 Sitting all day → slows circulation, tightens muscles, and can leave your body feeling stiff and low-energy.
🏋️ One daily workout → supports strength and fitness, but long inactive hours can still add up.
🚶 Moving throughout the day → keeps metabolism active, improves posture, and supports better overall health.
🌙 Sleeping late → can disrupt recovery, hormones, and next-day energy levels.
😴 Getting 7 hours → gives your body a solid chance to recharge.
⏰ Consistent sleep & wake times → help regulate your body clock, leading to deeper recovery and more stable energy.
😵‍💫 High stress → drains focus, affects mood, and impacts physical health over time.
🧘 Occasional rest → helps you reset when things feel overwhelming.
🌿 Daily stress management → builds resilience, keeps your mind clear, and supports long-term wellness.
Small daily habits done consistently beat occasional big efforts — move more, rest smarter, and manage stress to feel your best.

There are many things that can cause feelings of sadness or depression, but low magnesium might be one of them! 💭

Research shows that people with low magnesium levels often have more trouble with mood and may feel more down or tired. Magnesium helps the brain work smoothly by supporting brain signals, stress hormones, and inflammation—all things that affect how we feel.

When magnesium is too low, it can be harder for your mood to stay balanced. Taking magnesium—and sometimes vitamin B6 with it—may help support a more positive and steady mood.

Make sure you're staying hydrated!

🥤 Soda → high in sugar and additives that can leave you more dehydrated and craving more drinks.
🍊 Fruit juice → provides vitamins and fluids, but still best enjoyed in moderation.
⚡ Water with electrolytes → helps your body absorb fluids better and stay properly hydrated throughout the day.
🚫 Not drinking all day → can lead to low energy, headaches, and poor focus.
💧 Drinking when you’re thirsty → helps you respond to your body’s basic hydration signals.
⏰ Drinking consistently → supports steady energy, better digestion, and balanced hydration.
🚰 Tap water → hydrates, but mineral content can vary depending on the source.
🧊 Filtered water → cleaner taste and fewer impurities for everyday drinking.

Not all minerals are the same! The way a mineral is bound, or what it’s connected to, can make it either helpful or harmful.

Most minerals in food come in different forms. Some are easier for your body to use, while others aren’t as good.

Take potassium for example:

In its pure form, it reacts with water and could be dangerous.

When it’s bound to citrate, it’s safe, helpful, and easy for your body to use.

Potassium bicarbonate isn’t absorbed as well but can still support your body

It’s all about the bindings, they change everything! This is also true for elements like mercury and aluminum, certain forms are much worse than others!

Don't forget to follow!

Staying hydrated is key for everyone but especially if you're pregnant.

When you are pregnant, your body needs extra water and minerals to help both you and your baby stay healthy and growing strong.

Drinking enough water and getting key minerals like sodium, potassium, and magnesium helps keep your blood flowing, your muscles from cramping, and your baby’s fluid and growth systems in good balance.
