Anderson is a firefighter for the Pasco County, Fl. And lives with his wife Stephanie. Daughter, Elisabeth Anderson is finishing law school at Nova University. Patient and Friends,

I have had a recurrence of prostate cancer. I am currently undergoing treatment and in August will have radiation treatment.

I will continue my current MWF schedule at the office for as long as I am able. In August I may only work mornings depending on how I am tolerating treatment and the daily schedule for my treatment. Going forward, I will be out of the office periodically for testing, treatment and/or just not being well enough to be at my best. I will always attempt to give a heads up about changes in office hours when I am able. Please note that throughout, Ric will have the Rehab open and the therapists will be working.

I feel that it is not fair to my patients if I am distracted by my own health. However, I do not mind giving council to people who are undergoing related or similar issues.

I am giving this notice for two reasons: One, I am here to treat patients and not discuss my health each time someone enters the office. I am not stating this to be rude; it is difficult to rehash my health history 50 times a day. Two, discussing my cancer repeatedly tends to wear me out faster and as a result, I am sure there will be some who get sharp and unkind “smart assed” responses from me. I want to avoid this for all concerned.

Please know that my family and I thank everyone for all the prayers which have been offered over the past few weeks.

Wednesday: 6 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 4 pm

Dear Patients and Friends,

My surgery went very well last week. After a short stay, I was released from the hospital Friday May, 25. I am home resting and healing. Unable to lift anything over 5 pounds for a bit. The Bethesda Hospital staff and nurses were outstanding. Dr. Leveillee and his assistants were outstanding. Right now I am likely outstanding in my yard, to get my walking in for the day. I will return June 4th for light duty.

I will be working for the coming weeks prior to my next surgery date which has been set as May 22, 2018.

My last day in the office will be May 18th. I have plans to return June 4th for limited and light work. This of course is dependant on my recovery and will likely be for mornings only for the first two weeks back.

To summarize:

Surgery Date: May 22, 2018 surgery to remove
Renal Cell Carcinoma.

Last Day in the office: May 18, 2018

Return to light work: June 4th, 2018

Letter to My Patients:

I have had a complication related to my Prostate Cancer surgery. This infection is related to the removal of lymph nodes. While we knew there was some pooling of fluid after the surgery, these fluids generally get reabsorbed. In my case they did not and became infected. This caused me to have a high fever and the belief at the time was that I had the FLU at first and then possible appendicitis. Upon checking for the apendicitis in the ER, a CT scan was performed and revealed the Lymphocele infection. The CT Scan also revealed that there was a neoplasm of 2.5 centimeters in the upper pole of my right Kidney.

At this time, They have placed a drain in my pelvis which should be removed in the next few days. Next week I will be in consult for the removal of the Renal Cancer in the right kidney. And likely scheduled for further testing prior to surgery.

There is no timetable set right now other than I am unable to practice. I will post addendums as I get more information. The front desk has a list of Chiropractors whom I trust.
