Our CPO, Brandy Macaluso, was honored by the Human Trafficking Coalition Of The Palm Beaches with the prestigious Legacy of Hope Award—a tribute to her unwavering passion and two decades of dedication to supporting survivors of human trafficking in Palm Beach County.

A true cornerstone of the Coalition, Brandy is one of only two founding members still active since its inception in 2005. Over the years, she has worn many hats within the organization, serving as the Coalition’s first community chair and holding nearly every board position along the way. In recognition of her continued leadership and invaluable contributions, the Board even created a special position for her once she’d completed all possible executive terms—a testament to how deeply her insight and commitment are valued.

For the past decade, Brandy has served as the Coalition’s historian, preserving its legacy by sharing her deep knowledge of previous partnerships, fundraising campaigns, and community initiatives. From the beginning, she has been a strong voice for an often-overlooked group: trafficking victims with disabilities. Her advocacy brought attention to the unique challenges faced by survivors with mental, emotional, and physical impairments—issues rarely discussed but critically important.

Through her work with the Coalition and CILO, Brandy has supported survivors in some of the nation’s most significant human trafficking cases. These include the Cadena-Sosa case—at the time, it was one of the largest cases ever investigated and prosecuted by the U.S. Department of Justice— she worked with victims from the Epstein s*x trafficking case, and the Linda Weston case, in which victims with intellectual disabilities were targeted and exploited for financial gain while enduring horrific abuse and deprivation.

Brandy’s decades of service have not only created lasting change within Palm Beach County but have also inspired a new generation of advocates to continue the fight for justice, dignity, and hope for all survivors.

Congratulations! We are all incredibly proud to know and work with you!
