Dear Patients and Families of Westwood-Mansfield Pediatrics,

It is with profound sadness that we must relay that Dr. Lester Hartman died last night following a lengthy illness.

From his early days in the old gray house with Dr. Franklin to his later years leading a large, multi-office practice, Dr. Hartman was not only a caring pediatrician for generations of children and their families, but also a mentor for countless students and pediatricians.

Dr. Hartman was the heart, soul and vision of Westwood-Mansfield Pediatrics. His generosity of spirit, passion for his convictions, and his humility will be greatly missed.

If you have memories of Dr. Hartman or a message you would like to convey, please send it to our office and we will make sure it gets to his family.

Donations can be made on his behalf to Partners in Health.

Do you have any leftover, unopened non-perishables from Thanksgiving prep? Drop them off at our food drive! Kathryn did! Donations are being collected in all three of our office and will be distributed to local food pantries. Thank you to all who have donated thus far.

This week’s spotlight is someone we like to call “The Mayor” of Mansfield — because she’s as local as it gets! Born and raised right here in Mansfield, she still calls it home today. 🏡

She has been part of the WMPEDS family for 17 years, and her favorite part of the job is watching our patients grow. From caring for little ones to now seeing former patients walk in with children of their own — it’s those long-term connections with families that make every day at WMPEDS so meaningful. ✨

Happy Halloween from Mario Kart in Westwood, Blues Clues in Easton and our animals, Elsa and Sick 7 in Mansfield!

This Halloween remember to:
- keep a close eye on kids in streets in driveways
- consider writing your phone number on your child’s costume in case they were to wander off
- many kids have Allergies - consider non candy treats as well and signal their availability with a Teal Pumpkin on your doorstep
- the child who does not say Trick or Treat or Thank You or who is not dressed up could have a speech delay, a sensory issue, or be neurodivergent. All children deserve a welcoming trick or treat experience regardless of how they come to your doorstep!
