🎉 COVID Vaccines Are Here! 🎉
We’re excited to share that COVID vaccines are now available for all patients 18 and under at Westwood-Mansfield Pediatrics! 💉

🩵 Special COVID Clinics:
We’re hosting COVID-only clinics in November & December — especially for our 5 and under patients, since pharmacies can’t give COVID vaccines to children under age 5.

💉 Ages 6–18:
We’ll be offering COVID vaccines during our flu clinics this season. If you already have an appointment there is nothing you need to do. Note: Quantities are limited, so availability may vary by clinic.

📅 Already have an appointment in the office in the next 6 weeks?
No need to sign up separately — we can give the vaccine during your visit!

🏥 Prefer a pharmacy?
That’s fine too! Patients over age 5 can get both flu and COVID vaccines at many local pharmacies.
We’re offering the Moderna (Spikevax) vaccine and can’t wait to help keep your family healthy this winter! ❄️

Did you know that by age 14, girls drop out of sports at twice the rate of boys? The reasons girls are more impacted is complicated, but body image and pressure to “fit in” coupled with fewer high visibility female athlete role models likely contribute. At Westwood Mansfield Pediatrics, we see firsthand how important sports can be for a child’s health and confidence. Families - encourage your daughters to stay active, celebrate effort over results, and remind girls that they belong in sports.

And we’ll all cheer on Dr. Cannon’s favorite hockey goalie Juliet.

Yesterday Massachusetts became the first state to mandate thag health insurance companies in the state cover the cost of all vaccines that are recommended by the Massachusetts Department of Health. As federal recommendations change to contradict medical and scientific guidelines, this mandate protects a family’s ability to protect itself with life-saving vaccines without the fear of having to personally fund the cost. Pediatricians will continue to follow evidence-based medicine and the guidelines of long trusted health organizations such as The American Academy of Pediatrics, The American Medical Association, The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Academy of Family Physicians (just a few of many). All of us in the medical community continue to stand by the need for full vaccine access.

Thank you Governor Healey.

We hope that Massachusetts is just one of many to come!
