Did you know that Stephanie is a somatic bodywork practitioner with a specialty in addressing the issues in our tissues resulting from various forms of trauma?

Many people have experienced trauma in their lives but are not equipped with the skills and tools to work through its full impact. This results in unresolved emotions and energies getting stuck and trapped in our bodies. In addition, it can be a contributing underlying factor in conditions like chronic pain and long term health imbalances that don't respond well to medical treatments.

Stephanie integrates numerous modalities into sessions with clients, primarily craniosacral therapy, Maya Abdominal Therapy, and energy balancing techniques which help to calm your body by bringing the nervous system into a state of balance and parasympathetic regulation. She helps her clients feel comfortable in their bodies and assists in holding space for the release and processing of trauma.

She also offers various self-care tools and tips that people can do in between sessions to help work through challenging situations, so they can feel empowered in times of stress.

Stephanie is at the Abbott Center Wednesdays 12-7pm and Thursdays 11am-7:30pm.

About Trauma:

Trauma can have a profound effect on your life. It changes the way you think, feel, and experience life on a daily basis. The difficult part of defining trauma is that there’s really an unlimited number of things you can experience as being traumatic.

The key to understanding the definition of trauma is that it’s not really about what happens to you that matters, it’s how you experienced that event that matters.

The best definition of trauma is any experience that overwhelms your thoughts, emotions, or body.

Trauma is a very personal experience. How you remember an event can be very different from how someone else experienced the very same thing.

You can see this when two children are raised in the same home, with the same parents and siblings, and have very different memories or experiences of what it was like growing up in the same family.

When you experience something that overwhelms you it can rewire your brain and body. One of the biggest things trauma affects is your nervous system.

A traumatic situation can change how your brain interprets information. This can affect your memory, moods, emotions, and your feelings of safety and security.

After you experience trauma your body begins to live on high alert. You become very sensitive to your surroundings which is known as hyper-awareness. Things that might seem insignificant to other people can trigger strong feelings for you.

This is why understanding the effects of trauma is so important. Many people suffer from trauma without realizing it and this way of life becomes your new normal.

Stephanie is a gifted healer and is passionate about helping her clients feel their best. Keep reading for a little more information about the work she does.

and more.
